When Bavaria's best punchlines sparkle in competition
On Monday, November 9, 2026, the Munich Lustspielhaus will transform into a stage for sharp satire, clever comedy, and big names from the German-speaking cabaret scene. The Bavarian Cabaret Award 2026 combines award ceremony, TV recording, and a high-class laughter experience with attitude.
Great award for Michael Mittermeier
Michael Mittermeier will receive the main award. The comedian has stood for energetic stand-up, precise timing, and a cheerful attitude for decades, illuminating even social abysses with a grin. His stage presence creates that comedy atmosphere in which the audience first laughs and then realizes that they have just thought about the present.
Four awards, four colors of humor
In addition to Michael Mittermeier, Tina Teubner will receive the music award, Aurel Mertz the creator award, and Rebecca Pap the rising star award. With this, the Bavarian Cabaret Award showcases the entire spectrum of modern cabaret: musical cabaret, social satire, digital comedy, and fresh stand-up humor.
Moderation with crime scene experience
The evening will be led by Ferdinand Hofer, known as a commissioner from the Munich crime scene. The band d’BavaResi, featuring Sebastian Horn, Mathias Kellner, and Otto Schellinger, will provide musical highlights. Between award presentations, punchlines, and audience reactions, a varied stage evening with a TV format and club feeling will emerge.
TV recording at Lustspielhaus
Doors open at 6:00 PM, the event starts at 7:30 PM. The recording takes place at the Munich Lustspielhaus and is scheduled to last until 11:00 PM according to the event's information. Seating will be assigned on-site. Those who want to experience cabaret not just in stream but with real laughter, stage light, and direct interaction will find themselves in the middle of the action here.
Conclusion: Satire with attitude and heart
The Bavarian Cabaret Award 2026 brings together outstanding artists, musical entertainment, and pointed social observation on one evening. The audience can expect a versatile laughter experience between stand-up, cabaret, and TV recording. Live at the Lustspielhaus, comedy becomes a shared moment that no screen can fully replace.
