Michael Hatzius brings the lizard to Lustspielhaus: Satire, puppet play, and an audience on high voltage
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Munich Lustspielhaus will become the stage for one of those evenings where it’s clear before the first punchline: Here, routine does not reign, but rather a precisely set attack on the laughing muscles. Michael Hatzius is coming to Schwabing with ECHSKLUSIV and serves his satirical multi-course menu of puppet play, cabaret, and clever improvisation.
An evening with biting timing and animalistic good stage presence
Hatzius is regarded as a master of pointed character management. His lizard, the shy chicken, the choleric tick, the pair of pigs, and other quirky characters deliver a comedy atmosphere where wordplay, physicality, and timing almost interlock surgically. That’s exactly what makes the laughing experience so strong: Every audience reaction becomes part of the play.
Why ECHSKLUSIV works so well
The show thrives on the mix of stand-up feeling, cabaret sharpness, and puppet theater for adults. According to artist and press reviews, the direct contact with the audience is central, as well as improvisation in the moment. So the audience doesn’t just sit there; they become part of the evening with local precision and spontaneous reactions.
The Lustspielhaus as a fitting backdrop
The Munich Lustspielhaus on Occamstraße has been a solid fixture for cabaret, comedy, and small arts for years. The stage in Schwabing provides exactly the framework Hatzius needs: close, direct, atmospheric, and with the right dose of salon charm. Additionally, there are fixed table bookings, gastronomy, and a venue that is made for intimate shows.
What visitors can expect
Those who experience Michael Hatzius live will not get a smooth gag autopilot, but rather a finely constructed, lively comedy system with quirky figures, clever intensifications, and plenty of room for surprises. That’s why the evening is worthwhile: ECHSKLUSIV promises not only laughter but a performance with recognizability, attitude, and exquisite stage energy. Anyone who loves good comedy should experience this date live.
