Choir Concert in Munich: Bach, Brahms, and Sisask at St. Matthäus
On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the St. Matthäus Church in Munich will open its space for an extraordinary choir concert. Works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, and Urmas Sisask combine baroque clarity, romantic fullness of sound, and contemporary spiritual sound language for a multifaceted evening of choral music.
Three Epochs, an Intense Sound Experience
The program leads through different musical worlds: Bach's precise polyphony meets the warm, expressive orchestration of Brahms's choral arrangements. With Urmas Sisask, a modern perspective shaped by spiritual inspiration and cosmic sound ideas is added. In the acoustic atmosphere of St. Matthäus, voices, dynamics, and reverberation unfold a unique spatial depth.
Between Baroque Precision and Romantic Emotion
The music thrives on finely tuned synchronization, differentiated conducting, and a stage performance that makes the choir experience its breathing sound as a whole. Filigree lines grow into powerful soundscapes before the music returns to quiet, concentrated moments. The connection of Bach, Brahms, and Sisask promises a thrilling arc through the history of sacred choral music.
