Eastside Soul at IUS: Munich's Funk and Soul Night with the Munich Soul Gangstas
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the IUS Institute for Education and School in Munich will transform into a groovy meeting point for funk, soul, blues, and jazz. The Munich Soul Gangstas will bring their concert Eastside Soul to the stage and invite you to an exhilarating live experience from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
Hot Grooves Between Funk, Soul, and Blues
The repertoire combines danceable classics from James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Sade, and Bill Withers with a lively stage performance. Powerful bass lines, precise drums, expressive guitars, and a distinctive horn section featuring trumpet and saxophone shape the band's sound. The orchestration remains direct and physical: every groove aims at movement, every melody invites sing-alongs.
Six Musicians, One Common Pulse
The Munich Soul Gangstas perform with two lead vocals, guitars, bass, drums, trumpet, and saxophone. The interplay between the rhythm section and brass adds dynamic tension to the songs. Between relaxed soul vibes and funky energy, a concert atmosphere is created that invites both dancing and concentrated grooving.
From Insider Tip to Sought-After Live Band
In the past five years, the Munich Soul Gangstas have evolved from an insider tip to an act that sells out concert halls. Their musical concept focuses on joy of playing, closeness to the audience, and a sound that freshens up well-known classics. The band pursues a clear goal: the audience should enjoy live music just as much as the musicians themselves.
New Venue in Munich
The concert has been relocated from West & Soul to the IUS Institute for Education and School. The new venue is located at Charles-de-Gaulle-Straße 2 in the Munich district of Neuperlach. Doors open at 7:30 PM, and the concert begins at 8:00 PM.
