EIS brings Punk Rock with Attitude to the Munich X-Bar
On Thursday, October 22, 2026, the X-Bar in Munich will transform into a meeting point for energetic German punk, socially critical lyrics, and honest live music. EIS combines powerful guitars, catchy melodies, and clear messages into a concert experience with attitude. Special guest Herr Dennehy will open the evening with distinct songwriter sound and personal storytelling.
Anger, Hope, and New Beginnings on a Club Stage
EIS stands for punk rock that does not stay on the surface. The songs address societal shadows, inner depths, personal experiences, and political questions. Distorted guitars meet melodic arrangements, while the German language adds extra directness to every chorus. This creates an immediate live atmosphere in the intimate basement club environment of the X-Bar between stage performance, audience proximity, and shared energy.
A Band with History and a Clear Voice
Frontman, composer, and lyricist Thorsten Wozniak founded EIS in 1990 with school friends. After disbanding in the mid-1990s, the band celebrated its comeback in 2022. Wozniak combines musical commitment with social responsibility: since 2014, he has been the mayor of the Unterfranken town of Gerolzhofen. With A Felony, he won the Bavarian Music Award in 1998, and later his band Wozniak received the Bavarian Popkomm Music Lion. A collaboration with Udo Lindenberg is also part of his musical history.
Albums Between Dark Depths and New Courage
The debut album DUNKLE TIEFEN was released in 2023 and explores human abysses, absurdities of everyday life, and contradictions in society. The album ALLES WIRD GUT from 2025 continues this line and combines anger, hope, inner turmoil, and a spirit of departure. EIS does not rely on provocation for its own sake, but rather on emotional directness, clear stance, and joy in playing.
Herr Dennehy Opens the Concert Evening
As special guest, Herr Dennehy takes the stage. The Munich singer-songwriter combines acoustic guitar, a distinctive voice, and narrative lyrics with influences from the 1960s and 1970s songwriter tradition. Between folk, alternative country, and punk rock, songs arise about social observations, personal experiences, and special life moments. His album BEST IGNORANCE was released in 2026.
Live Experience in Lehel
The X-Bar provides the perfect setting with its alternative basement club atmosphere for an evening full of handcrafted music. Doors open at 8:00 PM, and the concert begins at 8:30 PM. Until about 11:00 PM, German-language punk rock, acoustic storytelling, and focused club acoustics come together. The audience can expect an intense concert evening with social relevance and tangible proximity to the stage.
Conclusion: Punk Rock That Has Something to Say
EIS and Herr Dennehy will bring together different musical signatures with a common attitude on October 22, 2026. Those searching for powerful guitars, honest lyrics, and a direct audience atmosphere will experience an evening in the X-Bar that balances rebellion, melody, and hope.
