Rhythm and Praise: Gospel Energy in the Stephanus Church

On November 14, 2026, the Stephanus Voices will bring their new program Rhythm and Praise to the Stephanus Church in Munich. The gospel choir combines traditional gospel energy with international musical influences and a pulsating stage sound.

More than 50 voices, a common groove

For more than 25 years, the Stephanus Voices have stood for captivating gospel singing in Munich. With over 50 singing and swinging voices, the choir develops a powerful sound fullness that ranges from finely tuned vocal harmony to rhythmic precision. The artistic direction is in the hands of Michael Armann, who has been working with the ensemble as conductor, pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader since May 2015.

Between Gospel, Spiritual, and Pop

The concert program takes the audience through different sound worlds. Traditional gospel and spiritual elements meet international pop classics and modern arrangements. Accompanied by two percussionists, a lively sound is created in which voices, rhythm, and movement intertwine closely.

Musical journey with African and Brazilian colors

Pieces like Masiti and Siyahamba bring African joy of life into the church space. The Brazilian lightness of Mas que nada and Água de beber opens the sound for dynamic dance. With City Called Heaven and Circle of Life, the program also sets spiritual and contemplative accents.

Live atmosphere between light, acoustics, and audience mood

The Stephanus Church creates the space for an intense concert evening with its special acoustics. When the voices spread out in the church space, percussion sets the pulse, and the choral pieces come together in a large orchestration, an immediate concert experience arises between devotion, stage performance, and shared movement.

Rhythm and Praise promises an evening full of groove, warmth, and spiritual energy. For those who want to experience gospel music in a large choir setting, with varied arrangements and direct live atmosphere, the perfect concert evening awaits on November 14, 2026, in Munich.
