Gypsy Jazz with electric energy and Sinti swing in the Silbersaal

The GYPSY JAZZ DAYS 2026 will bring two prominent formations from the European Gypsy Jazz scene to the Deutsches Theater Munich on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Giangiacomo Rosso with his Electric Quartet and the Sunny Franz & Elias Prinz Ensemble combine Django Reinhardt tradition, modern groove, and virtuosic Sinti swing into a concert experience with high musical tension.

When Django sound meets urban groove

Giangiacomo Rosso leads with his Electric Quartet the late turn of Django Reinhardt to American Jazz consistently further. His ensemble with Andrea Hermenau on piano, Julia Hornung on double bass, and Manfred Mildenberger on drums translates the timeless aesthetics of the Django sound into an electrified present. Precise synchronization, bouncing rhythm, and a powerful sound shape the stage performance.

Rapid strings, virtuosic Csárdás, and Valse Musette

Sunny Franz and Elias Prinz represent a young generation that interprets the German Sinti swing with fresh energy. At the center of their program is the music of Schnuckenack Reinhardt, Titi Winterstein, and Häns'che Weiss, as well as rapid swing compositions, virtuosic Csárdás, and playful Valse Musette. Sunny Franz on the violin, Elias Prinz and Jamiro Blum on guitars, and Ida Koch on double bass create a lively sound language between tradition and present.

An evening for connoisseurs and curious jazz fans

The GYPSY JAZZ DAYS have stood for international ensembles and the promotion of the local Munich scene since 2015. In the Silbersaal, acoustic precision, orchestrated guitar lines, and driving drums meet an immediate live atmosphere. The program appeals to fans of Swing Manouche as well as visitors who want to rediscover virtuosic string music, melodic elegance, and rhythmic stage energy.
