Lizz Wright brings her unmistakable voice to Munich
On Monday, October 26, 2026, the Muffathalle in Muffatwerk will transform into a resonance space for modern jazz, soul, gospel, and blues. Lizz Wright presents her Fall 2026 tour, combining warm tonal colors with a stage presence that holds intimate moments as well as grand musical arcs.
A voice with depth and radiant warmth
Lizz Wright is one of the prominent singers of contemporary jazz. Her career began with the album Salt, which was released in 2003 and topped the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts. This was followed by Dreaming Wide Awake, The Orchard, Fellowship, Freedom & Surrender, Grace, and Shadow. Her music draws from jazz, gospel, blues, folk, and the musical tradition of the American South.
Between jazz club intimacy and grand stage performance
Wright's dark, smooth alto gives weight to each phrase. In the live atmosphere of the Muffathalle, precise synchronization, nuanced orchestration, and organic sound meet a singer who develops musical tension from calm. Between subdued passages and powerful crescendos, a concert experience emerges with plenty of space for breath, nuances, and emotional dynamics.
Musical journey through gospel, soul, and jazz
Her musical roots reach back to a small church in Georgia, where Wright's father served as a pastor. Call-and-response singing and the expressive power of gospel continue to shape her stage performance today. At the same time, she opens her arrangements to contemporary jazz, blues, and soul. The direction of the evening lies entirely in the communication between voice, band, and audience.
An evening for intense sound moments
The Munich audience expects a concert that does not rely on surface effects. Lizz Wright shapes wide soundscapes with her voice, sets targeted accents, and allows even soft passages to have an immediate impact. Light, acoustics, and audience mood combine for an evening that speaks to jazz fans as well as all who appreciate strong voices and artistically refined live music.
Conclusion
Lizz Wright's concert in the Muffathalle promises an intense live experience between jazz, soul, gospel, and blues. Anyone who wants to experience her warm voice, elegant stage performance, and the emotional depth of her songs should mark October 26, 2026, and enjoy the evening live in Munich.
