Summer Classical Night in the Max Joseph Hall of the Residenz

The Summer Gala brings a stylish concert evening to the Munich Residenz on June 21, 2026. In the Max Joseph Hall, classical live music, opera arias, and a historic atmosphere meet a culturally enthusiastic audience seeking both ambiance and sound art.

An Evening with Musical Brilliance

The organizer Friends of the Arts – Joy in Culture, Classical Music and Ballet e.V. has been committed since 2025 as a non-profit association to classical music, dance, and opera. The aim is to give artists a platform and to particularly inspire young people with classical music. This is precisely what shapes this Summer Gala: a carefully curated program featuring works by Beethoven, Chopin, Donizetti, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Paganini, Elgar, Tchaikovsky, and Verdi.

The Program in a Historic Setting

On stage are Dmitry Mayboroda on piano, Markus Wolf on violin, Artturi Aalto on cello, as well as Ralitsa Bogdanova, Oscar Oré, and Oscar Quezada as vocalists. The mix of virtuosic instrumental passages and grand opera sounds creates an event experience with an elegant audience atmosphere. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the performance starting at 7:00 PM, followed by an intermission during the evening.

Residenz Munich as an Impressive Stage

The Max Joseph Hall is one of the special event spaces in the Munich Residenz. According to the Bavarian Palace Administration, it is suitable for concerts, ceremonial events, award ceremonies, and exhibitions; the maximum capacity is up to 360 people. Its central location makes getting there convenient, and the underground parking at Max-Joseph-Platz offers nearby parking options. Furthermore, the hall is accessible via the elevator on the west facade.

What Visitors Can Expect

Those attending the Summer Gala will experience a festive evening filled with classical music, strong voices, and the unique acoustics of a historic hall. The interplay of concert, ambiance, and professional organization promises a stylish cultural event with close proximity to the stage. Anyone who wants to experience music not only by hearing but in its entire atmosphere should attend this evening live.
