THE KILKENNYS bring Irish folk energy to Munich
On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Strom in Munich transforms into a lively meeting place for Irish folk, grand ballads, and captivating live music. The Kilkennys present their Thank You For The Days Tour 2026 and combine traditional Irish tones with modern stage energy.
Between ballad, rhythm, and Irish zest for life
The Kilkennys are among the internationally touring Irish folk and ballad groups of their generation. The band from Kilkenny continues the tradition of great Irish folk acts and combines narrative songs with dynamic arrangements, multi-part vocals, and a close audience connection. Their music ranges from classic ballads to contemporary folk anthems and their own compositions.
Anniversary album and new tour
The focus of the tour is the double album 25 Year Celebration. The release combines 25 songs with new recordings and popular fan favorites. In Munich, this repertoire meets the live atmosphere of the Strom: a club setting, short distances to the stage, and a sound that carries the rhythmic pulse of bodhrán, banjo, mandolin, accordion, and acoustic guitars directly to the audience.
Five musicians, one distinctive band sound
Mick Martin plays bodhrán, whistle, uilleann pipes, and vocals. Davey Cashin contributes guitar, banjo, mandolin, whistle, and vocals. Tommy Mackey plays bass and acoustic guitar, Jason Turk expands the orchestration with accordion, keys, and seaboard. Davey Long adds extra dynamics with drums and vocals. The interplay creates a precise synchronization of traditional instrumentation, modern tones, and energetic stage performance.
Live experience in Strom
The concert evening begins with entry at 19:30, the concert starts at 20:30. The audience atmosphere thrives on shared choruses, rhythmic clapping, and the alternation between emotional stories and driving folk passages. The Kilkennys unleash their special effect live: the acoustics of the club stage, warm instrumental colors, and the charismatic communication of the musicians make the concert more than just a simple album presentation.
