Colors become small works of art: Daily pictures in Gilching
The vhs course Daily pictures – Every day a small work of art invites you to explore the possibilities of water-miscible oil paints and to implement your own artistic ideas on canvas. Under the expert guidance of Charlotte Lorenz, a personal reflection on the work takes shape, where brilliant colors, painterly forms, and the joy of the creative process are at the center.
Oil painting without solvents
Water-miscible oil paints combine the characteristic depth of color and smoothness of oil painting with an uncomplicated application. The technique does not require solvents or disturbing odors. This creates a pleasant exhibition atmosphere in the workspace, where focused design, aesthetic experience, and creative exploration come together.
Develop your own visual language
Together, participants will work on motifs for an expressive small work of art. They will discover how the application of color, composition, and painterly reworking change the impact of an image. All the fundamental steps of oil painting technique will be taught, allowing both beginner experiences and existing knowledge to be sensibly developed further.
Cultural education with a personal signature
Charlotte Lorenz is an art educator and art therapist. Her artistic-pedagogical work focuses on the joy of one's own creativity and the development of an individual signature. The course combines professional introduction, practical reflection on works, and immediate art experience. Each canvas becomes a visible result of a personal artistic process.
Materials and schedule
The course takes place on four Fridays from November 20 to December 11, 2026, each from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Room 103 of vhs Gilching. Please bring: four canvases, a palette or a plate for mixing, a water glass, and a painting cloth. The course fee is 73 Euro including 10 Euro material costs; a reduced fee of 67 Euro is available.
Conclusion: An intense art experience for creative explorers
Daily pictures provides direct access to painting and makes practical art education an experiential sensory experience. Those who love brilliant colors, want to try a new painting technique, and take home their own small work of art will find an inspiring framework in this vhs course. The aesthetic experience is created here not only through viewing art but through one's own creative expression.
