12th Gilchingen Art and Culture Week 2026: Together.WORK in Gilching

Together.WORK: Gilching becomes a stage for art and culture

From October 9 to 25, 2026, Gilching transforms into a versatile cultural space. Under the motto "Together.WORK," the community invites local artists, associations, institutions, and volunteers to the 12th Gilchingen Art and Culture Week.

A festival for music, theater, literature, and visual arts

Over more than two weeks, the program covers a wide range of the cultural landscape: concerts, readings, theater performances, exhibitions, workshops, and participatory offerings bring together people from Gilching and the region at numerous venues. Classical, jazz, pop, and folk music meet cabaret, literature, traditions, and creative formats for children, youth, and seniors.

Gankino Circus opens the culture week

The kick-off is the concert by the band Gankino Circus on Friday, October 9, with the program "The Opposite of Rock’n’Roll." Virtuoso music, quirky stories, and humorous stage energy combine tradition and modernity into an unusual concert experience. The event sets the tone for a culture week focused on diversity and shared experiences.

From the Town Hall to the SchichtWerk

The festival area spans the entire municipality of Gilching. Special highlights include the Long Museum Night at the SchichtWerk, children's theater, an opera, author readings, art workshops, and an evening of Gilching's traditional associations. The various venues make the culture week a mobile multi-day experience with changing impressions and short distances between exhibitions, stages, and participatory offers.

Creativity knows no age

Families and young visitors will experience their own program highlights. The children’s and youth participatory exhibition "Together.WORK" invites them to create a personal image on the theme of cohesion. The Children's and Youth Culture Day on Sunday, October 25, will focus on young talents, creative workshops, and the presentation of a joint artwork at the town hall.

Festival atmosphere with a strong sense of community

The special quality of the Gilchingen Art and Culture Week arises from the collaboration of many participants. The community, artists, associations, institutions, and volunteers shape the festival organization together. This creates not just individual evening performances but an open cultural festival with a community feel, local stories, and diverse encounters.

Conclusion: Experience culture together live

The 12th Gilchingen Art and Culture Week connects music, art, theater, literature, and participatory culture into a varied program for all generations. Those who wish to discover Gilching from its creative side and experience special cultural moments live will find numerous opportunities to listen, marvel, and participate between October 9 and 25.
