Thoughts-Breaks: When Memories Take Shape
The exhibition Thoughts-Breaks at the District Gallery of Upper Bavaria brings together the artists Ruby Jurkeit and Katharina Schellenberger. From September 30 to December 2, 2026, the show is dedicated to the uncertainty, fragility, and mutability of human identity. Ceramics, painting, shards, and projections open a sensory approach to memories, relationships, questions, and inner breaks.
Between Porcelain, Color, and Memory
Ruby Jurkeit combines ceramics with conceptual art, video, and projections. Her work The Wearable Memory made of porcelain with cyanotype print makes memories tangible as fragile, material traces. An art talk with Katharina Schellenberger and a performance by Ruby Jurkeit will expand the examination of the work with verbal and performative perspectives. The musical design will be provided by singer-songwriter Flora Blubiny with dream-pop.
Cultural Education and Barrier-Free Mediation
The accompanying program includes a creative workshop, a tour in easy-to-understand language, a tactile tour of selected original artworks, and a tour in German Sign Language. Exhibition texts in easy language and Braille, as well as a video in German Sign Language, support an inclusive cultural education. Access to the gallery is barrier-free.
