Together.WORK: Gilching becomes a stage for art and culture
From October 9 to 25, 2026, Gilching transforms into a vibrant cultural space. During the 12th Gilching Art and Culture Week, the municipality, together with local cultural creators, brings concerts, theater, readings, exhibitions, workshops, and participatory offers to various venues throughout the municipality.
A festival for all generations
The motto Together.WORK stands for encounters, creative diversity, and shared experiences. The culture week is aimed at citizens as well as guests from the region and connects established event formats with open offers for children, teenagers, and families.
Music, theater, and special stage moments
The kickoff is on Friday, October 9, with a concert by the band GANKINO CIRCUS featuring the program The Opposite of Rock’n’Roll. Between Rock’n’Roll and village life, tradition and modernity, an energized blend of music, humor, and joy of playing emerges.
Further program points expand the festival with different art forms. At the moderated chamber music evening Classic & AI, works by Johannes Brahms, Edward Elgar, and Fritz Kreisler meet new compositions created in collaboration with ChatGPT. Rebekka Hartmann on violin and Andreas Begert on piano and composition connect musical tradition with an ongoing discourse about creativity, authorship, and artificial intelligence.
Creativity for everyone
A special focus is on children's and youth culture. In the participatory project on the theme of cohesion, children and teenagers aged 3 to 16 create their own images. From individual works, a large community mosaic will emerge, which will be unveiled on October 25, 2026, as part of the Children's and Youth Culture Day at the town hall.
Festival atmosphere in the municipality
The Gilching Art and Culture Week is not a festival at just one location but a multi-day cultural experience with changing venues. Town hall, schools, club rooms, and other meeting points become stages for encounters, discussions, and artistic exchange. This decentralized festival organization strengthens the sense of community and makes culture visible in everyday life.
Conclusion: Experience culture together
The 12th Gilching Art and Culture Week shows how diverse the regional cultural scene can be. Visitors can expect a varied program with live music, exhibitions, theater, readings, workshops, and family offers. Those who want to not only observe art but experience it together with others will find numerous inspiring occasions in Gilching from October 9 to 25, 2026.
