Together.WORK: Gilching becomes a stage for art and culture
From October 9 to 25, 2026, Gilching will transform into a vibrant cultural landscape. Under the motto "Together.WORK", the municipality invites, together with local artists, clubs, institutions, and volunteers, to the 12th Gilching Art and Culture Week.
A versatile lineup for all generations
The multi-day cultural festival combines concerts, theater, readings, exhibitions, workshops, and hands-on offerings. Classical, jazz, pop, and folk music meet literature, cabaret, opera, film, and visual arts. The events will take place at numerous locations throughout the municipality, making Gilching itself the festival grounds.
Kick-off with GANKINO CIRCUS
The kick-off is marked on Friday, October 9, with a concert by the band GANKINO CIRCUS with the program "The Opposite of Rock’n’Roll". Virtuosic music, quirky stories, humor, and playfulness combine village life and rock’n’roll into a unique stage show.
Experience and create art
The festival atmosphere includes the Long Museum Night in the Schichtwerk, art workshops, exhibitions, and creative offerings for children, teenagers, and families. The children’s and youth participation exhibition invites young participants aged 3 to 16 years to submit their own pictures on the theme of solidarity. From individual works, a large community artwork will be created.
Community as a festival principle
The culture week thrives on the close interplay of the municipality, the artists, clubs, and engaged volunteers. This community feeling defines the festival: Different sectors, generations, and perspectives come together to develop a cultural multi-day experience.
Finale with the Children's and Youth Culture Day
On Sunday, October 25, the stage in the town hall belongs to the young talents. The Children's and Youth Culture Day will focus on creative hands-on offerings and the presentation of the overall artwork from the children's and youth exhibition. The unveiling of the community painting is scheduled for 3 PM in the town hall.
Conclusion
The 12th Gilching Art and Culture Week brings together music, theater, literature, exhibitions, and encounters at many locations. Visitors can expect a diverse festival program featuring regional engagement, national artists, and cultural experiences for the entire family. Anyone who wants to experience Gilching as an open stage should mark the dates from October 9 to 25, 2026.
