12th Gilchinger Art and Culture Week: Together.WORK in Gilching

From October 9 to 25, 2026, Gilching transforms under the motto "Together.WORK" into a versatile stage for art, music, theater, literature, and encounters. The municipality of Gilching organizes the 12th Art and Culture Week in collaboration with local cultural creators, associations, institutions, and volunteers.

A multi-day experience for the entire community

The culture week brings its visitors to numerous venues within the community. Concerts, readings, theater performances, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and participatory offers connect different generations and interests. The decentralized concept makes Gilching itself the festival grounds and creates a lively community feeling between the town hall, cultural venues, and other performance spaces.

Music, theater, literature, and visual arts

The diverse lineup ranges from live music and concerts to literary formats, film, theater, and visual arts. The kickoff is the concert of the band Gankino Circus on October 9, featuring the program "The Opposite of Rock’n’Roll". Tradition and modernity, village life, and Rock’n’Roll come together in an energetic stage show filled with humor and enthusiasm.

Light, history, and creative encounters

A special highlight is "The Museum Shines!" at Wersonhaus. From October 16 to 18, large-scale projections of Bavarian and Roman museum objects turn the facade into a captivating stage for light, image, and sound. The installation is accompanied by music and texts from WortReichen; entry is possible during the ongoing event.

Culture to participate in for all generations

The festival organization emphasizes participation and cultural education. Workshops, participatory exhibitions, and offers for children and young people complement the artist lineup. The Children and Youth Culture Day on October 25 concludes the festival and invites attendees to craft, paint, juggle, make music, and discover together.

Festival atmosphere in the Five Lakes Region

Instead of a single festival area, the entire community opens its doors. This creates a special festival atmosphere: visitors switch between concerts, exhibitions, readings, and meeting formats, discover new performance spaces, and experience culture directly in everyday life. The multi-day experience connects local affinity with regional artists.

Conclusion: Gilching becomes an open cultural stage

The 12th Gilchinger Art and Culture Week stands for shared experiences, creative diversity, and strong community spirit. Those who wish to experience art, music, theater, literature, and personal encounters in a diverse festival atmosphere will find numerous occasions to visit Gilching between October 9 and 25.
