A Night in Beijing Between Closeness, Coincidence, and Farewell
At the 14th Chinese Film Festival Munich, Crossing A Dawn takes the audience on an urban night full of encounters, detours, and quiet romantic tension. The screening will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in the projector of Gasteig HP8.
A Failed Date as the Start of a Special Night
35-year-old interior designer Xu Qiu meets 28-year-old aspiring novelist Chen Yuzhou. A dating app profile that doesn't quite match reality serves as the starting point for a night where both wander through Beijing searching for the right spot for their meeting.
Between Comedy, Romance, and Urban Feel
Director ZHAO Badou combines drama, comedy, and romance into a story about first impressions, awkward detours, and the fragile closeness between two people. As the city continues to live in the dark, a potentially brief meeting develops into an open, surprising exchange.
99 Minutes of Chinese Cinema in Original Version
The film from 2026 lasts 99 minutes and will be shown in Chinese original version with English subtitles. The staging relies on dialogue, timing, and the changing dynamics of two characters who become increasingly familiar over the course of a night.
Film Festival Munich with Current Perspectives
Crossing A Dawn is part of the 14th Chinese Film Festival Munich, which presents current productions from the Chinese-speaking world from November 5 to 15, 2026. The festival focuses on personal relationships, social changes, and new ways of life.
Conclusion: A Cinema Night for Romantic Urban Stories
Those who appreciate contemporary Chinese cinema, witty dialogues, and romantic stories with comical twists will experience a lively festival evening with Crossing A Dawn. Mark the date at Gasteig HP8 and discover the unique atmosphere of the film live in the cinema hall.
