LOOP ONE Festival 2026: Biathlon meets festival atmosphere in the Olympic Park
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Munich Olympic Park will transform into an urban biathlon arena with a festival atmosphere. The LOOP ONE Festival combines world-class sports, interactive activities, and entertainment for an intense day for biathlon fans, families, and curious sports enthusiasts.
World-class biathlon in the heart of Munich
On roller skis, the best biathletes in the world will compete in thrilling super-sprint races around the lake in the Olympic Park. For the second edition, the competition program has been extended to two days. On Saturday, qualification rounds and the decisive races are on the agenda.
The international line-up includes Lisa Vittozzi, Eric Perrot, Sturla Holm Lægreid, Johan-Olav Smørdal Botn, Elvira Öberg, as well as the German athletes Janina Hettich-Walz, Vanessa Voigt, Philipp Nawrath, and Philipp Horn.
Festival grounds with side-stage feeling and interactive activities
The LOOP ONE Festival is more than just a sports event. Between the competition zone, activity areas, and Home of Biathlon, a versatile multi-day experience with a sense of community is created. Visitors will experience the open-air acoustics of the course, short distances to the athletes, and a lively atmosphere between the grandstand, festival grounds, and action areas.
At Biathlon 4 All, guests can pick up a rifle themselves and try the sport at interactive stations. The Kids Area, Community Run, CrossFit offerings, meet-and-greets, and more program points make the festival attractive for families and beginners.
A day full of sports, excitement, and encounters
The festival day begins with the first activities in the morning. The program includes the Kids Area, a Community Run with Denise Herrmann-Wick, a sports program with the sprint qualifications, as well as open participatory formats such as Biathlonrocks: Beat the Legends. Benedikt Doll opens the festival day, while Simon Schempp is announced for encounters in the Home of Biathlon.
The festival organization focuses on short distances between sports, information, and entertainment. This makes LOOP ONE a special format in festival culture: world-class athletes do not perform in a remote arena, but right in the Munich Olympic Park and thus in close proximity to the audience.
Admission, access, and atmosphere
Access to the festival grounds and the course is generally free. Tickets are required for grandstand seats and the standing area at the shooting range. The day ticket for the standing area on the grass steps costs 23.50 euros including fees; discounted tickets are available for 12.50 euros. Children up to and including five years of age are granted free admission when accompanied by an adult.
The LOOP ONE combines athletic precision, urban backdrop, and an open festival atmosphere. Those who know biathlon only from television will experience the dynamics of the races, the cheers along the track, and the energy of an international sports community up close.
Conclusion: Experience biathlon live
The LOOP ONE Festival brings the world's elite of biathlon to Munich and turns the Olympic Park into a meeting point for sports fans, families, and the entire biathlon community. Secure your day ticket and experience sprint action, participation offers, and festival vibes live at the track.
