In the town hall of Gilching, young and old nature enthusiasts will learn how hedgehogs live, what they eat, and why their habitat needs special protection.

On a Discovery Tour Through the Hedgehog Year

Illustrative roll-ups guide visitors through the annual cycle of the hedgehog – from hibernation to raising young to the challenges in urban areas. This turns a short outing into a child-friendly learning experience with many aha moments.

Knowledge That Empowers Children for Nature

The exhibition explains in an understandable way what dangers hedgehogs face in everyday life and when an animal actually needs help. Children develop an age-appropriate understanding of habitats, food chains, and human responsibility. Small changes in one’s own garden can already make an important contribution to hedgehog protection.

Quality Time with Learning Fun

The family experience combines children’s laughter, wonder, and nature knowledge. Engaging in conversations about animals, the environment, and safety emerges while looking together. The content is particularly suitable for families, primary school children, and kindergarteners who want to learn about native wildlife not just from picture books.
