ENTRE 2 / TAKE MY BREATH: An immersive cinema experience at Gasteig HP8
As part of the 16th African Film Days Munich, ENTRE 2 / TAKE MY BREATH tells a story of identity, threat, and the brave journey to oneself. The Tunisian drama by Nada Mezni Hafaiedh leads the audience into the cinema hall Projektor at Gasteig HP8 on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
A story between island and metropolis
At the center is Shams, whose intersex identity becomes known on a Tunisian island. The seemingly peaceful life shatters when an unyielding pursuer becomes a threat. Shams flees to Tunis and begins a search for safety, self-determination, and her own identity.
Intense cinema with social relevance
The 96-minute feature film from Tunisia, released in 2023, combines personal drama with a compelling exploration of social norms, exclusion, and the power of a self-determined life. The original version with English subtitles creates an immediate closeness to the world of the characters while preserving the linguistic and cultural complexity of the story.
Award-winning lead actress
The lead actress Amina Ben Ismail was awarded Best Actress at the Festival du Film Arabe de Casablanca 2024. Her portrayal gives Shams a fragile yet determined presence that carries the drama emotionally and resonates long after the credits roll.
Part of the African Film Days Munich
The African Film Days present diverse perspectives of African filmmakers at Gasteig HP8. The festival focuses on cultural exchange and films that provide a nuanced picture of African realities.
