Repair Café in Putzbrunn: Repair Together Instead of Throwing Away

Repair instead of Throwing Away: The Repair Café in Putzbrunn

When the toaster malfunctions, the bicycle tire squeaks, or a wooden chair needs a small repair, the Repair Café in Putzbrunn offers a practical alternative to throwing things away. On Saturday, November 14, 2026, visitors will meet in the club room of the tennis club to make defective everyday items functional again together with volunteer helpers.

Expertise, Tools, and Collaborative Fixing

The focus is on slightly defective small electrical devices and kitchen appliances, mechanical household items, bicycles, and light furniture. The experienced repair helpers will check the items brought in, advise on possible solutions, and implement repairs that can be made with reasonable effort. Operating manuals, suitable spare parts, and bicycle inner tubes are welcome to be brought along.

Sustainability with a Personal Atmosphere

The event experience combines practical craftsmanship with lived sustainability. Instead of hastily throwing away defective devices, they are given a second chance. At the same time, an open event atmosphere is created where knowledge is shared, experiences are exchanged, and new contacts are made. The Repair Café thus follows the idea of international repair initiatives that promote repairing as a contribution to resource conservation and a circular economy.

Important Notes for Visitors

Each person should only bring one item. Pre-registration is not required: Interested individuals can simply drop by. Especially at the beginning of the event, there may be a larger turnout and possible waiting times. The volunteer helpers will repair what is technically and temporally feasible.

Free Admission, Donations Welcome

Admission to the Repair Café is free. Donations support the organization and the voluntary commitment on site. The event is organized by the Volkshochschule SüdOst in the district of Munich and is aimed at adults seeking practical help, expert advice, and a sustainable approach to everyday items.

Conclusion: Repair Together and Conserve Resources

The Repair Café in Putzbrunn shows how a small defect can become a shared event experience. If you own a slightly damaged device, bicycle, or piece of furniture, you will find knowledgeable support, valuable tips, and an engaged audience atmosphere here. Come by, participate, and experience live repairing.
