Dancing Zwiefache: Munich Dance Workshop with Live Music

When waltz and rotary steps unexpectedly switch sides within a melody, the special charm of the Zwiefache begins. At the cultural center LUISE, dance professional Katharina Mayer invites you to a three-part workshop that uniquely combines Bavarian dance culture, live music, and a communal club experience.

Rhythm Changes with Energy and Emotion

Dancing Zwiefache means: listening attentively, feeling the rhythm change, and immediately putting it into motion. A dynamic dance floor atmosphere arises between three-quarter and two-four time, connecting concentration with joy. The step sequences develop playfully and quickly create an open, sociable party atmosphere.

Live Music from the Lower Bavarian Musicians' Round Table

The Lower Bavarian Musicians' Round Table provides the right mix of music with genuine live accompaniment. Katharina Mayer teaches the characteristic movements step by step and shows how to clearly hear the changing rhythms. Those who master waltz and rotary steps have the best prerequisites; prior knowledge of dancing Zwiefache is not required.

Open Dance Floor for Individual Dancers and Couples

The format is aimed at everyone who wants to actively experience Bavarian dance culture. Even those who come without a fixed dance partner will find connections on-site. In the LUISE hall, communal dancing is at the forefront: down-to-earth, lively, and with plenty of room for musical discovery.
