Biathlon World Class Meets Festival Fever at Olympiapark Munich
From October 17 to 18, 2026, the LOOP ONE Festival transforms Munich's Olympiapark into a spectacular arena for the biathlon season opener. The world elite competes on roller skis in an urban super-sprint format. There will also be interactive sports offerings, family programs, meet-and-greets with biathlon stars, and festival atmosphere right in the heart of Munich.
Saturday: Qualification, Mass Starts, and Big Names
The first day of the festival starts at 9:00 AM. From 11:00 AM, the women's qualification races are on the agenda, before the men start their competition at 12:20 PM. Para-biathlon competitions make a strong statement for inclusion and expand the sporting range.
In the afternoon, the first competition day concludes: the women's mass start final begins at 3:40 PM, and the men's final follows at 4:25 PM. Precision at the shooting range, explosive starts on the roller ski course, and tactical management of energy characterize each round. The award ceremonies start at 5:15 PM.
Experience Biathlon Up Close
The LOOP ONE Festival combines elite sports with hands-on experiences. In the Side Quest Area, visitors can compete against legends of the sport in Biathlonrocks. The Kids Area offers, among other things, CrossFit, a mini-disco, and movement activities. Encounters with Benedikt Doll, Denise Herrmann-Wick, and Simon Schempp bring the fascination of biathlon directly to the audience.
Amidst floodlights, fan chants, and focused field tension, a unique stadium atmosphere is created. Every shot changes the dynamics, every curve intensifies the duel. The urban game system of the festival makes tactics, pressing-like duels, and the race against time visible up close.
Sunday: Second Competition Day with New Decisions
On Sunday, the biathlon action continues from 8:00 AM. Qualification races lead to the decisive finals, where the best athletes of international biathlon will once again compete for seconds and hits. The weekend ticket thus provides access to two days of world-class biathlon and a diverse supporting program.
Entry and Event Area
Access to the festival grounds and the track is free. Tickets are required for grandstand seats and the standing area at the shooting range. The weekend ticket is available from 36 euros. Children up to and including five years receive free admission when accompanied by an adult. Discounts apply, among others, to teenagers, students up to and including 26 years, people with disabilities, and seniors.
Conclusion: Two Days of Biathlon with Festival Feel
The LOOP ONE Festival brings together world-class biathlon, family programs, and urban event energy. Visitors will experience thrilling qualifications, dramatic finals, direct encounters with sports stars, and the unique atmosphere of Olympiapark. Those who want to not only follow biathlon but feel it will experience a whole weekend full of speed, precision, and emotions.
