Andreas Bönte: An Evening Between Memory and Present

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Andreas Bönte will perform at the Munich Volkstheater. The evening starts at 8:00 PM and leads into a personal and socially moving confrontation with suppressed history.

When Biography Becomes Stage

During a hospital stay caused by anxiety disorders, journalist Andreas Bönte discovers the suppressed NS past of his family. From this biographical shock, a stage evening emerges that connects private memory with German contemporary history.

Dramaturgy of Memory

The production focuses on the breaks, gaps, and aftereffects of familial past. The central question is how history continues to live in biographies and what responsibility arises from remembering. The Munich Volkstheater creates a concentrated framework between acting, conversation, and documentary reflection.

Theatrical Atmosphere at the Munich Volkstheater

The Munich Volkstheater is one of the defining stages in Munich and combines classical theater tradition with contemporary forms. In Stage 2, an immediate closeness to the event is created: The acoustics, the reduced set design, and the tense lighting mood direct attention to voice, posture, and the power of storytelling.

A Stage Experience with Social Depth

Andreas Bönte promises an evening that does not stop at personal history. The dramaturgy opens the view on memory culture, historical responsibility, and the difficult movement between repression and insight. It is this connection of personal experience and public history that gives the event its special intensity.

Conclusion: Visitors can expect a thoughtful, concentrated stage experience at the Munich Volkstheater. Anyone wanting to experience theater as a place of encounter with history and the present will find an evening of personal impact and social relevance.
