BlöZinger: Head Cinema Cabaret between Castle Walls and Laughter Storm
When two unsuccessful authors embark on a fake awards ceremony in Transylvania, a stage experience full of dark humor, quirky characters, and surprising twists begins. BlöZinger presents Castle with Humor on October 1, 2026, at the Munich Lustspielhaus as a crazy fantasy grotesque with rapid role changes and extraordinary acting skills.
A film unfolds right before the audience's eyes
Big cinema does not need a screen with BlöZinger. Robert Blöchl and Roland Penzinger transform the stage with a minimum of props and a maximum of imagination into an adventurous world. Each character is created from voice, body posture, timing, and precise observation. The directing work appears immediate: The audience experiences how scenes solidify in the moment of their creation and become their own head cinema.
Transylvania, dubious figures, and an enchanted castle
The dramaturgy follows two naive writers who embark on a journey to a fictitious award. Mysterious figures attach themselves to their heels along the way. Upon arriving at the enchanted castle, the two authors become embroiled in a game with rules dictated by others. The production combines fantastic motifs with pointed social observation and Austrian charm.
Acting with speed and acoustic precision
BlöZinger switches roles at lightning speed and brings each character to life with just a few gestures. The theatrical atmosphere thrives on closeness to the audience, the precise rhythm of the dialogues, and an acoustics where every punchline unfolds its echo. This creates an intense cabaret experience between grotesque comedy, physical stage presence, and narrative imagination.
An award-winning cabaret duo
Robert Blöchl and Roland Penzinger have been performing as BlöZinger since 2004. For their head cinema cabaret programs, the duo has received, among other awards, the German Cabaret Prize and the Austrian Cabaret Prize. Castle with Humor takes this connection of theater, cabaret, and cinematic storytelling into a grotesque castle world, where audience reactions oscillate between amazement and uproarious laughter.
Conclusion: A live experience for fans of intelligent humor
Visitors to the Lustspielhaus can expect a fast-paced evening with fantastic characters, dark wit, and a production that shapes its images solely from acting and language. Those who want to see how a whole film unfolds in the mind from two performers, a few props, and an extraordinary dramaturgy should experience BlöZinger live on stage.
