CIRCUS in Munich: Acrobatics between Awe and Floating

When the curtain rises at GOP Varieté-Theater Munich on October 17, 2026, a journey into the poetic world of modern variety begins. CIRCUS – Festival of Artists combines traditional circus atmosphere with contemporary stage art and leads the audience right into a play of body control, risk, and visual magic.

The Great Circus World as a Modern Production

The production bows to the tradition and poetry of the great circus world and expands it with a narrative level. Artistic disciplines, choreographic precision, and comedic moments combine to create a variety performance in which each act feels like a separate narrative arc. The dramaturgy thrives on the interplay between holding one’s breath, laughter, and the liberating awe after a successful movement.

Stage Design, Light, and Body Art

In the glow of colorful stage lights, images emerge that float between circus tent, dream space, and theater stage. Acrobatic feats, balance, and artistic excellence meet a precise direction, whose rhythm focuses the audience’s attention. Costumes, music, and lighting mood give the stage experience the sensory density that distinguishes modern variety from a mere sequence of acts.

An Evening for Lovers of Stage Art

The GOP Varieté-Theater is known for its combination of theater, acrobatics, comedy, and magic. The performance takes place in a special hall ambiance with tables, creating an immediate theater atmosphere. The audience experiences the artists not from a great distance but as part of a concentrated stage space, where every gaze, every turn, and every moment of risk becomes palpable.
