CIRCUS at GOP Variety Theater: When Acrobatics Become Great Stage Poetry

On Thursday, October 22, 2026, the GOP Variety Theater Munich transforms into a sparkling arena. CIRCUS – Festival of Artists combines the grand gesture of classical circus with modern variety art, narrative dramaturgy, and spectacular live entertainment.

Between the Arena, Magic, and Highest Body Art

At the center of the production is the fascinating world of acrobatics: physical peak performance, clever magic, clowning, and that tension that arises when a single moment decides success or failure. The GOP bows to the approximately 250-year tradition of the circus world and translates its imagery into a contemporary stage experience.

A New Narrative Level

CIRCUS does not limit itself to a series of virtuoso acts. The show combines artistic skill with fresh dramaturgy and innovative artistic elements. This creates an evening where tension, comedy, wonder, and poetic moments merge into a grand scenic arc.

Light, Movement, and Theater Atmosphere

As the stage space transforms into a modern arena, dynamic movements meet precisely set lighting moods and the immediate acoustics of the variety theater. Costumes, music, and choreographed sequences intensify the atmosphere into a sensory total experience. Each act sets a new impulse, and every acrobatic movement continues the production.

An Evening for Lovers of Stage Art

The show is aimed at all who want to experience acrobatics not just as a spectacular effect but as a demanding form of performing art. Acting, clowning, magic, and acrobatic precision encounter each other in a format that connects tradition and the present.
