When the ring becomes a poetic stage
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, the GOP Varieté-Theater Munich will transform into a sparkling world of acrobatics, magic, and great circus poetry. CIRCUS – Festival of Artists connects the tradition of the ring with modern varieté dramaturgy and invites you to an extraordinary stage experience.
Artistic fireworks between tradition and present
The production pays tribute to the approximately 250-year history of the circus world while simultaneously opening it up to a contemporary stage language. Physical peak performance, clowning, magic, and precise movement merge into a narrative show in which each performance develops its own dramatic rhythm.
Direction, stage design, and light as independent actors
The direction is by Igor Protsenko and Irina German from the Circus Theatre Bingo in Kyiv. The stage design by Sebastian Drozdz creates the space for spectacular body images, while the lighting design by Andi Hönig and Leon Rivero Budde shapes the ring between dramatic tension, brilliance, and fairy-tale atmosphere.
Virtuoso body art and international artistry
On stage, handstand acrobatics, trapeze, hula-hoop, vertical cloth, equilibrium, diabolo juggling, unicycle artistry, and roller skate acrobatics meet. The artists of the Circus Theatre Bingo combine technical precision with choreographic elegance. Especially the duets thrive on balance, trust, and a tension that is directly transferred to the audience's reaction.
A varieté experience for all senses
Glittering costumes, changing light moods, and the proximity of the GOP hall create an intense theater atmosphere. Between amazement, laughter, and tense silence, a stage experience emerges that blurs the line between circus and theater. The performance lasts about two hours including intermission.
Conclusion: Experience great artistry up close
CIRCUS promises an afternoon full of thrills, poetry, and virtuoso body acting. Those who want to experience modern varieté art, artistic peak performances, and the special magic of a live performance will find an impressive occasion for a shared cultural evening at the GOP Varieté-Theater Munich.
