CIRCUS at GOP Varieté-Theater Munich: Acrobatics between Wonder and Goosebumps
When the curtain rises at GOP Varieté-Theater Munich on November 7, 2026, CIRCUS – Festival of Artists begins a stage experience full of body art, precision, and visual magic. The show combines contemporary variety with the grand tradition of circus and takes the audience into a world where seemingly impossible movements become poetic stage language.
A Production with Artistic Tension
Acrobatics, balance, movement, and surprising moments characterize the dramaturgy of this variety production. At its core is the immediate impact of the acrobatics: every jump generates tension, every turn changes the rhythm, and every seemingly suspended moment holds the room for a breath.
The GOP relies on a modern form of stage art in which artistic peak performance and narrative atmosphere intertwine. Light, costumes, and music shape a vividly colorful stage space that alternates between festive brilliance, dynamic energy, and mysterious shadows.
Variety as a Sensual Stage Experience
The theater atmosphere thrives on the closeness between stage and audience. Unlike in a classic circus tent, a concentrated space for the art of performance is created in the variety: gazes, gestures, balance, and timing become the supporting elements of the production. The acoustics of the hall, the lighting mood, and the changing pace of the acts condense into an evening that appeals to the senses.
The production is understandable without language and directs its expression entirely towards movement, music, and visual dramaturgy. This creates a universal form of storytelling that reaches children from six years old as well as experienced variety guests. Children under three years are not allowed due to noise and lighting effects.
Performance on November 7, 2026

Drinks, snacks, and small dishes are available in the hall; additionally, seasonal menu offerings are available at the Leander restaurant.
