LaTriviata: When the Opera is Born at the Same Moment
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Pasinger Fabrik will transform into a musical experimental stage: LaTriviata invites you to the improvised opera. Starting at 8:00 PM, a unique stage experience will unfold directly before the eyes and ears of the audience – without a finished libretto, without a pre-composed score, and without a guarantee of repetition.
Musical Theater from the Moment
The production does not follow a predetermined storyline. The audience provides impulses for settings, emotions, characters, or props; from this, the ensemble immediately develops arias, duets, choruses, and entire opera scenes. Comedy, eccentricity, and dramatic twists are only a musical breath apart.
Dramaturgy Between Risk and Precision
Since 2002, LaTriviata has connected classically trained voices with free improvisation. Four singers and one musician respond to each other, picking up audience impulses and composing text and music simultaneously. The direction evolves through play, the dramaturgy grows from the moment, and each performance remains an unrepeatable piece of operatic history.
Performing Arts, Acoustics, and Audience Proximity
The singers move between performing arts, musical interpretation, and spontaneous stage poetry. From a few guidelines, changing characters, surprising conflicts, and deep emotions arise. The theater atmosphere of the Pasinger Fabrik supports this immediate format: The former factory offers a characterful cultural space for theater, music theater, and experimental stage arts.
An Ensemble with International Stage Experience
LaTriviata celebrated its premiere in 2002 at the Pasinger Fabrik and has since performed on stages and at festivals in the German-speaking world. The artistic team includes Verena Barth, Sibylla Duffe, Maria Helgath, Burkhard Kosche, Ariane Pestalozzi, Benno Vogel, and Andreas Wolf, among others. The musical direction is with Michael Armann, and the direction for acting and improvisation is by Andreas Wolf. In 2010, the ensemble was honored with five international awards, including a Golden Lion in Cannes.
Conclusion: Opera as a Unique Moment
LaTriviata does not provide the audience with a finished work but rather the exciting creation process itself. Those who wish to experience improvisation, opera, performing arts, and musical risk up close will find an evening full of surprises at the Pasinger Fabrik. Secure your tickets and become part of an opera that exists only on this evening.
