MUT: Poetic Theater about New Beginnings and Solidarity
On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the Pepper Theater in Munich opens the stage space for MUT, a poetic play about new beginnings, longing, and the power of collective movement. The performance starts at 8:00 PM and takes the audience into a coastal landscape where people linger in waiting while the sea murmurs as a distant promise.
When Standstill Suddenly Moves
At the heart of the production is a community that has settled into the safety of the familiar. Only one character looks beyond the fog and senses that new possibilities lie beyond the familiar boundary. From this impulse, a finely composed dramaturgy develops about curiosity, fear, and the willingness to take the first step.
Shadow Play, Wind, and Powerful Body Images
The direction and set design by Viktor Schenkel combine poetic images with a physical stage language. Shadow play, wind, music, and powerful body images give the theater atmosphere a sensual depth. The sound design by Joscha Baltes makes the coastal landscape acoustically present, while light and movement make the transformation of the characters visible.
A Production about Foreignness and Community
In the dramaturgy of Clara Hanae Tolle, foreignness and openness encounter each other not as opposites but as starting points for change. The characters begin listening to each other again and discover that new perspectives broaden their own horizons. Thus, MUT becomes a stage experience about hope, understanding, and the joy of growth.
International Ensemble, Shared Stage Moment
On stage are Bilal Ahmad Samir, Elizabeth Birungi Nalubuga, Joshua Ayodele, Nosa Aimuamwosa, Alina Ivanova, Tendo Mutungi, Selin Kömür, Melat Hoanensy, Laurian Ssuna, Solomon Ssentamu, Mary Nalya, Dorah Nalubyayi, Regina Yachyna, Benjamin Sebuliba, and Oluwasegun Majekodunmi. The diverse cast carries the production with an acting style that focuses on presence, physicality, and collaborative play.
Conclusion: An Evening that Broadens Perspectives
MUT promises an atmospheric theater experience for all who appreciate stage art with poetic images and social resonance. Between fog, wind, and the sound of the sea, an evening about the courage to change unfolds. Those who want to experience how community grows from uncertainty will find a poignant moment on stage at the Pepper Theater.
