Operation HEIL! Kräuter: Cabaret against Forgetting

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Small Stage of the Pasinger Fabrik will transform into a place of sharp punchlines, historical memory, and musical stage art. Sebastian Schlagenhaufer and Ramon Bessel present a moving cabaret program about the defense of democracy through the means of humor.

Humor as Resistance

The titular saying by Karl Valentin serves as the starting point for an evening that highlights the absurdities and dangers of the Third Reich. Between laughter and unease, a production emerges that does not leave political history in the museum but brings it directly to the stage.

Chansons, Texts, and Short Scenes

The dramaturgy leads through selected chansons, texts, and short scenes of courageous cabaret artists. The focus includes the Munich scene around Helmut Käutner, Werner Finck, and the Berlin Katakombe, Fritz Grünbaum and the Wiener Werkel, as well as the German exile cabaret in Bern, London, and New York.

Musical Atmosphere and Historical Depth

Ramon Bessel brings the sound world of the 1930s to life at the piano. Sebastian Schlagenhaufer and Ramon Bessel combine acting, singing, contemporary history, and cabaret precision into a moving display. Complementary backgrounds to the lives, works, and fates of the artists lend the production a documentary depth.

Between Punchline and Goosebumps

The audience's reactions range between liberating laughter and thoughtful silence. A review from the Süddeutsche Zeitung highlights the skillful singing, compelling performance, and the clever selection of different pieces. This creates a stage experience that intertwines entertainment and historical responsibility.

Conclusion: An Evening that Resonates

Operation HEIL! Kräuter promises an intense cabaret experience with music, acting, and political vigilance. Those who want to experience the power of stage art directly will find an evening filled with dark humor, historical clarity, and human attitude at the Pasinger Fabrik.
