Alter Wirt Moosach | Events & Menu

The Alter Wirt Moosach is much more than a classic tavern. At Dachauer Str. 274 in Munich-Moosach stands an address that has been associated with Bavarian hospitality for centuries and has been rooted in the area since 1442 according to the official website. This long history is what makes the location appealing: here, history, good food, and a clear focus on events come together in one house. Those looking for the Alter Wirt Moosach menu, Alter Wirt Moosach events, Alter Wirt Moosach parking, or Alter Wirt Moosach opening hours will find not just any gastro address, but a place with its own profile. The house combines restaurant area, Bräustüberl, beer garden, terrace, garden house, Munich hall, Salettl, and alpine hut into a versatile event location suitable for private celebrations, corporate events, and social evenings alike. Particularly convenient are the central location in Munich-Moosach, the good connections with U3 and S1, and the parking lot directly at the house. This creates an overall picture that convinces both for spontaneous restaurant visits and for planned events. ([alter-wirt-moosach.de](https://www.alter-wirt-moosach.de/gaststaette))

Events and Activities at Alter Wirt Moosach

The search queries around Alter Wirt Moosach events, crime dinners, comedy dinners, and events clearly show what makes the location particularly strong: The Alter Wirt is a house for experiences, not just meals. The current event page features formats such as The Dumpling Conspiracy Bavarian Crime Comedy Dinner, Whiskey Tasting with Bob Bales, Love at Second Click, Magic Dinner with Florian Otto, and Bavarian for Beginners. The program is complemented by cultural and seasonal events such as Bavarian Easter Stories, Father's Day Festival, Beer Garden Festival, The Little American Oktoberfest, and Summer Festival with the Cagey Strings. This covers a wide spectrum: from humorous dinner shows to musical evenings to classic festivals throughout the year. Particularly relevant is that the house not only announces events but also explicitly invites bookings on the reservation page. For guests, this means: those who fancy an evening with food, entertainment, and a clear Bavarian backdrop will find regularly new occasions instead of standardized gastro-routine. This makes Alter Wirt Moosach particularly strong for search queries related to program, tickets, crime dinner, and comedy dinner because the event strategy of the house is visible and continuously maintained. The connection to music, enjoyment, and Bavarian atmosphere is also clearly recognizable, making the Alter Wirt perceived not just as a restaurant but as a culturally usable meeting point. Menu, Lunch Specials, and Bavarian Cuisine

Those searching for the Alter Wirt Moosach menu or lunch specials will find themselves at the core of the culinary profile of the house. The menu is broad and ranges from appetizers and salads to vegetarian and fish dishes to grill classics, children's dishes, desserts, and an extensive drinks menu. Particularly defining are the Bavarian dishes, which immediately make clear in which culinary environment one is moving: roast pork, pork knuckle, farmer's feast, Moosach pretzel schnitzel from pork, veal Wiener schnitzel, cheese spaetzle, zander fillet, dorade fillet, and Kaiserschmarrn exemplify the mix of tavern classics and somewhat more modern selections. Hofbräu beers, wine, spritz variations, and schnapps round out the offerings. The website also shows that the Alter Wirt regularly offers a lunch menu, making it relevant not only for dinner and events but also for daytime visits. For seekers, this is important because the combination of regional cuisine, lunch offerings, and festive dishes or selection menus makes the place attractive for different occasions. This way, the house fulfills multiple search intentions simultaneously: quick lunch break, classic Bavarian food, family meals, group menus, and holiday planning. The menu thus confirms that Alter Wirt Moosach is not just an event location but primarily a well-kept Bavarian tavern with broad culinary competence. Parking, Directions, and Opening Hours

For many search queries, the practical part is crucial: Where exactly is Alter Wirt Moosach located, how do you get there, and where can you park? The official banquet brochure answers this very clearly. The house is centrally located in Munich-Moosach and is easily accessible by public transport; the Moosach train station with U3 and S1 is mentioned. Additionally, the establishment has its own parking lot with 15 spaces, which can comfortably accommodate a coach. This combination of public transport connections and parking facilities directly at the house is a strong argument for groups, families, and organizers. The official reservation page also confirms the address Dachauer Str. 274, 80992 Munich, making the location information clear. The opening hours are also clearly communicated: Monday to Sunday from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM, hot meals continuously from 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and snacks until 10:00 PM. For guests who wish to drop by spontaneously, this is very pleasant because the gastronomic use operates throughout the day and is not limited to a small time window. Those planning to visit an event also benefit from the fact that the location is designed for bus trips and the banquet brochure explicitly mentions good transport connections. This way, typical questions about parking, directions, opening hours, and the menu fall into a coherent overall picture: central location, direct parking, good accessibility, and reliable service times. Rooms for Celebrations, Conferences, and Weddings

A large part of the attractiveness of Alter Wirt Moosach lies in its clearly structured room layout. The banquet brochure names four central event rooms with different sizes and equipment: the Bräustüberl for up to 25 people, the garden house for up to 58 people, the Munich hall for up to 125 people, and the Salettl for up to 30 people. This makes the house suitable for both small family gatherings and larger corporate or wedding parties. It is particularly important that the rooms are differentiated not only by size but also by atmosphere. The Bräustüberl is suitable for smaller, intimate celebrations; the garden house brings a calm, family atmosphere; the Munich hall is designed for larger events and conferences; and the Salettl complements the offering as a compact room for smaller groups. The technology list is also strong: the garden house features an 85-inch TV, music box, lighting system, and disco ball, while the Munich hall has a projector, screen, music box, air conditioning, and stage, and the Salettl has an 85-inch TV as well as a projector and screen available upon request. Additionally, smaller celebrations can be à la carte, but for 25 people or more, a menu or selection menu is provided. The house thus clearly positions itself as a planning venue for weddings, birthdays, Christmas parties, conferences, and corporate events. Those searching for Alter Wirt Moosach photos, reviews, or event rooms will therefore not receive an interchangeable event backdrop but a house with different room levels, suitable technical possibilities, and an official banquet structure designed for professional use. Alpine Hut, Curling, and Winter Events

The alpine hut is one of the most distinctive elements in the profile of Alter Wirt Moosach and is therefore highly relevant for search queries like alpine hut, curling, or carnival. The website describes the hut as a location with Bavarian mountain flair, primarily intended for the winter months from November to February. It is divisible, has an integrated bar, and can be equipped with music and lighting systems, microphone, and upon request with projector and screen. In front of the hut, four high tables in a rustic style are available for a festive reception with mulled wine and hot chestnuts. Inside, guests sit at rustic wooden tables, each accommodating up to seven people. This makes the alpine hut a very independent experience space that is not only decorative but also designed for celebrations, socializing, and winter atmosphere. Accordingly, the banquet brochure mentions four curling lanes and describes curling as a winter team and group activity. For companies or groups of friends, this is a clear added value, as a visit consists not only of eating and drinking but also of a playful, communal experience. In summer, the beer garden with chestnut trees, playground, and spacious outdoor area complements the offering, while in winter, the alpine hut provides a characterful counterpoint. This seasonal adaptability explains why Alter Wirt Moosach is often searched for special occasions: the location offers not only rooms but also orchestratable moods. Those looking for a rustic yet well-organized celebration will find here a compact winter concept with a clear identity. ([alter-wirt-moosach.de](https://www.alter-wirt-moosach.de/gaststaette))

History since 1442 and the special tavern feeling

The historical dimension at Alter Wirt Moosach is not just decorative embellishment but the core of its brand identity. The official website emphasizes that guests have been hosted in a well-maintained Bavarian ambiance since 1442. A local historical contribution describes the place even more precisely: where the Alter Wirt stands today, there has been an inn since at least 1442, then a tavern, meaning not just a simple tavern, but a house with food, drink, and accommodation. The historical text also explains that the location on an important highway between Munich, Dachau, and Augsburg was crucial for economic success. At the same time, it becomes clear that the Alter Wirt has not only experienced glorious times but also difficult phases, including changes of ownership and a forced auction at the beginning of the 19th century. This mixture of continuity and change gives the place depth. Today, one can feel this history in the way the house presents itself: modern-Bavarian, friendly, family-friendly, and at the same time tradition-conscious. In the restaurant area, in the Bräustüberl, and in the other rooms, this mix is visibly continued. This also explains why the location is interesting for search terms like reviews, photos, and menu: people want to see in advance whether a place offers not only functionality but also an atmospheric special experience. At Alter Wirt Moosach, this is precisely the case. The old address on Dachauer Straße stands for Munich tavern culture, while the current rooms, events, and services show that tradition is interpreted here not in a museum-like manner but in a lively way. This creates a house that consciously relies on its origins and derives its current strength from them. ([alter-wirt-moosach.de](https://www.alter-wirt-moosach.de/gaststaette))

TLDR: If you are looking for some of the best Bavarian food, with the Best Atmosphere in Munich… come here! We were lucky enough to have an American Thanksgiving here and was introduced to a place rich with history and service beyond compare. We were luckier by meeting the Innkeeper outside of this restaurant and came back to have their Traditional Food. To say I have never tasted Bavarian food better would be an understatement. The Innkeeper, staff, cooks all were spectacular. I had beef cheeks here that honestly made me want to cry, they were so good. I am lucky it is so close to our home! Come here, enjoy the food as well as a place that has been around since 1442… and I now know why!

One of the best restaurants we have visited in Munich. The food was very tasty, and the service was very thoughtful, even on a busy night. A hidden gem — highly recommended and away from the tourist crowds.

I’ve been to Alter Wirt Moosach more than three times now and every visit has been a hit. The food is consistently delicious and it’s one of my favorite places for a proper Bavarian meal. It’s also the perfect spot for a Bavarian breakfast, especially if you want to start the day right. The Wiener Schnitzel is amazing, crispy and full of flavor. I’ve also tried the surf and turf, absolutely worth every penny. The house-made Käsespätzle is super creamy and comforting, and I highly recommend it. The Zwiebelrostbraten is really good too. Tender meat, rich sauce and just the right amount of crispy onions on top. The place is beautiful, with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The service has always been good and everyone working there is friendly and kind. Highly recommend if you’re in the area or just want to enjoy traditional food in a lovely setting.

Has 2 labelled vegan dishes on the menu plus some side dishes (fries, side salad…). The rice dish was fine, but average in taste. The portion was rather large and the location is nice.
