Digital Library, Media Collection, and Online Access
A central feature of the Community and School Library Oberhaching is the strong digital expansion of the traditional library offerings. Officially, the library is described as a modern, attractive institution with around 50,000 media units, which offers numerous digital services in addition to books. These include Badico - OverDrive, DigiBObb. or Onleihe, filmfriend, Freegal Music+, LinkedIn Learning, Rosetta Stone, as well as the Brockhaus student training and school topics. This range shows that the library is not only intended as a lending point for print media but as a learning and media center for various age groups. Particularly relevant for families and students is the Brockhaus student training, which, according to the official site, supports the subjects of German, English, French, Latin, and Mathematics. For film fans, filmfriend offers more than 3,500 feature and documentary films, series episodes, and short films, while Freegal Music+ provides millions of songs as well as audiobooks for streaming and download. Access is granted with library card number and password, making it uncomplicated and user-friendly. The online management is also practically solved: In the My Account section, media can be renewed and return deadlines checked. For search terms like digital library Oberhaching, Onleihe Oberhaching, or Freegal Music Oberhaching, this is particularly relevant because the site clearly shows that digital usage here is not an addition but a fixed part of the library profile. Those looking for a modern community library with media diversity, online access, and educational offerings will find a convincing overall package in Oberhaching. ([webopen.oberhaching.de](https://webopen.oberhaching.de/))
Reading Mice, Book Fair, and Events for Families
The event culture of the Community and School Library Oberhaching is another reason why the institution remains visible in the area. Particularly popular is the series Reading Mice, which, according to the official announcement, is aimed at children from one year old. There, stories are read aloud, told, and looked at together; afterwards, families can browse further in a relaxed atmosphere and engage in conversation. Important for many parents: Participation is free, and no registration is required. This shows that early childhood reading promotion is not understood as a marginal theme here but as an active part of municipal educational work. Additional formats include book art actions, reading offers, reading meetings, or events related to holiday programs. The library also becomes particularly visible during larger events such as the book fair in the library hall, which was announced in the official community news. There, books, children's and youth media, as well as board games are offered, while certain types of media such as older novels, magazines, encyclopedias, films, CDs, or vinyl records are not accepted. Additionally, previous programs have also mentioned cinema in the library and events in the library hall, which strengthens the space as a cultural meeting point. For those searching for library hall Oberhaching or book fair Oberhaching, these are valuable hints: This library is not just a quiet place but also an active event venue. Families and children particularly benefit from the close connection between reading promotion, encounters, and leisure here. Library of Things, Extensions, and Practical Services
A particularly contemporary feature of the Community and School Library Oberhaching is the Library of Things. According to the official site, around 50 items were offered for borrowing at the start, including a cordless drill, a laminating and labeling device, a Bluetooth speaker, a karaoke system, a plotter, a boules game, a mini-golf set, a Nintendo Switch, an eBook reader, and learning robots for different age groups. This offering fits perfectly with a modern understanding of sustainability and shared use: items that one only occasionally needs do not have to be purchased but can be easily borrowed. This is a real added value for families, craft enthusiasts, technology lovers, and leisure groups. Additionally, there is a practical usage service surrounding the library account. Media can be renewed online; after selecting the titles, the button to renew media is clicked, and then the renewal is confirmed. Those who wish to be reminded before the deadline can also be notified by email. This also speaks for a very user-friendly, well-organized library operation. In connection with the digital offerings and the friendly feedback from users, a coherent overall picture emerges: The library does not only work with books but with solutions. It supports reading enjoyment, learning, shared experiences, and uncomplicated usage. For search queries like library of things Oberhaching, renew media library Oberhaching, or contact library Oberhaching, this combination offers exactly the practical information that counts in everyday life. Many books. Good views. Cozy and warm. Wheelchair accessible. Nice personnel. I would like to spend a lifetime in there... but alas, mostly just drop by quickly to return some overdue books 😅.

The Oberhaching library is a dream! A first-class selection of modern literature is offered in a large space. The nonfiction and children's sections are also up-to-date and very extensive! All current magazines and newspapers are also available. I've been visiting it for years—at least once a week—and it's a real pleasure. The staff are friendly and competent. You can request new books, and these are often granted. The only thing is that the classics section is a bit small, so there could be some improvement. A real asset for a small town—please keep it up!

Fantastic library. Very spacious inside. As an avid reader, I'm delighted to be able to satisfy my reading appetite there with the very up-to-date selection. The staff are also friendly and helpful.

Some of the women who work in the library really take themselves too seriously and make a mountain out of a molehill. It puts you off borrowing books. But there are other libraries in the area where the staff are much friendlier.
