A great place for a relaxing stroll all year around. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash.

...When you come into the castle Schleißheim complex from the northeast side, through the Lustheim gate side, you can see such a lovely site, old castle, a stream, big wall and a lot of lovely trees. And that is just a foreplay to the real thing, the big lake and the castles of Old and New Schleißheim...

The garden at Schleissheim Palace is a 17th-century work by Zucalli. The garden and canals were created in conjunction with the construction of Lustheim Palace. Today, it houses a collection of Meissen porcelain and contemporary ceramics. The palace was built to the delight of the young Elector Max Emanuel and the daughter of the Austrian Emperor, Marie Antoinette, on the occasion of their wedding. Stroll through the park, admiring the magnificent fountains and sculptures. The murmur of water accompanies us. Gaze at the beautiful floral arrangements and immerse ourselves in the park's lush greenery. Lustheim awaits us at the end of the magnificent canal. In winter, curling is possible on the frozen canal. You can reach it by taking the S1 from Munich towards Freising. Get off at the Oberschleissheim stop.

Here is the northern entrance gate, which is closed in the evening. There is a sign with a description of the castle grounds for better orientation. From here you can explore the grounds. The entrance is nicely decorated.
