The official website describes the venue as a place of creative, political, and social engagement, while the city of Potsdam refers to the long tradition of the house and the special atmosphere of the ensemble. ([kabarett-potsdam.de](https://www.kabarett-potsdam.de/programme))
Schedule, Programs, and Current Performances
The schedule is one of the strongest reasons why the Kabarett Obelisk is regularly sought after. The official website describes the house as a place where changing original programs range from political satire to readings to comedy shows. Additionally, there are regular guest performances from established guests and well-known cabaret artists. It is important for visitors that the performances, according to the website, take place from Tuesday to Saturday at 7:30 PM in the cabaret hall and are additionally moved to the courtyard stage in the summer. This means the house not only covers classic cabaret evenings but also offers a seasonal logic that makes the visit feel different depending on the time of year. This is what makes the search for the schedule interesting, as the program does not limit itself to a single genre but consciously combines political satire, readings, music, and entertainment. ([kabarett-potsdam.de](https://www.kabarett-potsdam.de/programme))
The structure of the website also shows how important the program theme is. There are dedicated sections for the schedule and for individual programs, as well as information on original productions, guest performances, ticket purchases, and special formats. Additionally, the official site points to the ticket shop and various formats in the house, such as the Club Charlotte or the cabaret pub, which extend the cultural offerings beyond the actual performance evening. So, anyone searching for Kabarett Obelisk schedule, Kabarett Obelisk program, or Kabarett Obelisk tickets will not only receive an event calendar but a complete visiting system with evening preparation, ticket acquisition, and a clear expectation of the type of show. The house positions itself as a place where current topics, playful wit, and musical elements come together, and where the evening consists not only of a performance but of a cultural overall package. ([kabarett-potsdam.de](https://www.kabarett-potsdam.de/spielplan/programme?utm_source=openai))
Tickets, Prices, and Box Office
Those planning a visit will find clear information on prices and sales times on the official contact and house page. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, ticket prices start at 26 euros, while on Fridays, Saturdays, guest performance dates, and holidays, they are 29 euros; premieres also cost 29 euros. In addition, there are discounts of 3 euros for eligible guests and for groups of 15 or more, although certain dates such as Saturdays, holidays, guest performances, premieres, and special events may be excluded. This pricing policy shows that the Kabarett Obelisk is aimed not only at spontaneous visitors but also at planning regular guests and groups. At the same time, the price level remains transparent and easily comparable, which is particularly helpful for users specifically searching for Kabarett Obelisk prices, Kabarett Obelisk tickets, or box office information. ([kabarett-potsdam.de](https://www.kabarett-potsdam.de/haus))
The box office is staffed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and is additionally open 2 hours before the performance starts; there is no sale on performance-free days. The website also mentions the ticket hotline 0331 291069 and refers to the online shop, where tickets can also be secured. For many visitors, this combination of advance sale, hotline, and box office is particularly practical, as it allows booking both digitally and directly on-site. So, anyone who prefers to organize tickets early in the day can use the box office; those who decide later can check availability online or contact the box office shortly before the start. Overall, the ticket area appears very visitor-friendly and clearly structured, which is a real plus point, especially for a popular city center stage with a regularly changing program. ([kabarett-potsdam.de](https://www.kabarett-potsdam.de/haus))
Directions, Address, and Parking in Potsdam
The most important orientation for directions is the address itself: Charlottenstraße 31, 14467 Potsdam. The official city website describes the Kabarett Obelisk as a cultural site in the center of Potsdam, while the website locates the house as a venue right in the baroque center. This already makes it clear that it is an inner-city location where one can expect short distances, a historic environment, and a dense cultural setting. For those searching for Kabarett Obelisk Charlottenstraße 31, Kabarett Obelisk Potsdam, or Kabarett Obelisk directions, this central position is the most important reference point. The surrounding area belongs to the urban areas where one can easily combine city walks, restaurant visits, and cultural evenings without having to plan long distances. ([potsdam.de](https://www.potsdam.de/de/kabarett-obelisk-satiretheater-potsdam))
When it comes to parking, it is worth looking at the city center as a whole. The city of Potsdam mentions several parking options in the area around Bassinplatz, including parking garages on Hebbelstraße, at the Wilhelm Gallery at Platz der Einheit, and at Stadtpalais/Hegelallee. Bassinplatz itself is also described as a central location with tram and bus connections. For the visit to the cabaret, this means in practice: those arriving by car should consider the inner city as a parking environment and check the current occupancy in advance; those arriving by bus or train benefit from the dense access to the center. The monument and event environment also provides information on parking and public transport connections, further confirming the central and easily accessible location. Thus, the question of parking at Kabarett Obelisk can be answered seriously without making false promises about on-site parking spaces. Historic House Charlottenstraße 31 and the History Since 1782
The building itself is an essential part of the fascination. Charlottenstraße 31 was built in 1782 on the orders of Frederick II according to plans by Georg Christian Unger as an ordinance house. The facade is characterized by Roman soldier figures and the war gods Mars and Bellona, giving the house its classic Prussian character. Over time, the use changed several times: in the 19th century, the building became a city school, later the Charlottenschule, and finally a girls' secondary school, before the school office moved in after World War II and the house stood empty in the early 1990s. Only in 1997 did the current venue of the Kabarett Obelisk emerge here, where historical and modern building parts were connected by glass elements. This connection is what makes the house so special today: one does not just visit a stage but a building that makes Potsdam's transformation visible over more than two centuries. ([kabarett-potsdam.de](https://www.kabarett-potsdam.de/haus?utm_source=openai))
However, the history of cabaret begins even earlier than the current venue. The Potsdam cabaret was founded in 1978; according to Kreatives Brandenburg, the ensemble moved to its new venue at Charlottenstraße 31 in 1997 after having performed in another environment for 19 years. The profile of the house has been shaped from the beginning by political-satirical engagement, musical elements, and a distinctive tone. The city of Potsdam reports more than 100 original productions since its founding and guest performances throughout the German-speaking area, which have given the ensemble a good reputation far beyond the city limits. Kreatives Brandenburg also mentions about 65,000 spectators annually and the well-known reference of the name to the obelisk in the vicinity of Sanssouci. So, anyone searching for Kabarett Obelisk history or the origin of the house will not receive just a mere anecdote but a grown cultural institution with its own style and a long history of impact. ([kreatives-brandenburg.de](https://www.kreatives-brandenburg.de/de/network/profiles/member/kabarett_obelisk/))
Hall, Courtyard Stage, Club Charlotte, and Cabaret Pub
The equipment of the house is also important for the visit. In the older but still informative city description, it is stated that the hall has 192 seats, alternatively 140 seats at tables, and a small gallery offers 40 seats in rows. Additionally, there is a cabaret bar, a spacious foyer, and a mirrored hall for special receptions and buffets. This information shows that the Kabarett Obelisk is not only suitable for classic seated performances but also for formats where closeness, conversation, and a more sociable setting are required. The stage thus does not feel like an anonymous large house but like a deliberately designed space where encounter and performance are very close together. For search queries regarding Kabarett Obelisk hall, capacity, or seating, this combination of flexible seating and gallery is particularly relevant. ([potsdam.de](https://www.potsdam.de/de/content/obelisk-cabaret))
The house also includes an extended usage area that goes beyond the actual cabaret evening. The official website describes Club Charlotte and the Koschuweit cabaret pub as places for music, concerts, parties, dancing, readings, and celebrations; according to the site, the premises can even be rented for events. The 360° view also makes it clear how versatile the house is set up: from the entrance to the foyer, then into the theater hall, further into Club Charlotte and the cabaret pub. For visitors, this means that the Kabarett Obelisk is not just a single stage but a small cultural house with multiple atmospheres. This multipurpose use fits well with a place where preparations are made during the day, performances are held in the evening, and in the context of the performances, one can also eat, drink, or celebrate. Those searching for Kabarett Obelisk photos, Club Charlotte, or cabaret pub will find a coherent overall picture of the house. ([kabarett-potsdam.de](https://www.kabarett-potsdam.de/clubcharlotte))
Photos, 360° Tour, and Impression Before the Visit
For many users, the visual impression beforehand is just as important as the program. This is where the official 360° view of the Kabarett Obelisk is particularly helpful. The tour shows not only the entrance scenario but also the foyer with artist photos and event dates, the theater hall with immediate stage proximity, Club Charlotte, and the cabaret pub. This gives a realistic impression of how the house is set up and what paths one takes during the visit. Especially when searching for Kabarett Obelisk photos or for an initial visual impression, this feature is valuable because it is not limited to individual press images but shows the rooms in their use. This is helpful for people who want to know before their first visit how close they will sit to the stage or how large the foyer actually is. ([kabarett-potsdam.de](https://www.kabarett-potsdam.de/galerie))
The visual impression also fits with what the Kabarett Obelisk represents in content: a house that connects tradition and present. The official site speaks of a popular place for creative, political, and social engagement, the city of Potsdam refers to political satire, comedy, and musicality, and Kreatives Brandenburg describes the good reputation of the ensemble far beyond Potsdam. So, anyone looking at pictures or taking the tour before the visit sees not just rooms but a cultural concept: a historic building with a lively stage, approachable atmosphere, and clear program logic. This is exactly why the Kabarett Obelisk is so well suited for high-quality SEO content. It is a place with history, a place with a schedule, a place with space offerings, and a place that appears charming and independent in the center of the city.
The kabarett Obelisk is an amazing place. There is so much that happens here! But one of my absolute favorite times to visit is Sunday mornings for a Mittendrin church service! You can hang out and have a drink on Saturday evening and then the next morning at 11 go to church there! Pretty cool and unique for Potsdam!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a fantastic evening at the Kabarett Obelisk! Bella Liere and Andreas Ziegler really hit my humor with their new piece "AI is looking for a flatshare - 6 1/2 weeks rent-free". They not only sang great but also played with so much charm and wit that I laughed to the point of tears at times. The atmosphere was totally inviting – you just feel comfortable there – and the audience was just as warm and cheerful as the whole evening. For me, a real highlight. I will definitely come back! 🎭 Highly recommended 👌
