The municipal continuing education center of the municipalities of Planegg, Gräfelfing, Krailling, Neuried, and Gauting is state-recognized, reaches around 10,000 people annually, and works with over 300 part-time instructors. Throughout the year, this results in about 1,400 different courses, lectures, and learning opportunities. The program of the vhs im Würmtal is intentionally not limited to a single type of event but is divided into several large thematic areas that are clearly visible on the website. These include vhs online courses, people and the environment, profession and digital, languages, health, art and culture, as well as young vhs. The current overviews also feature numerous subtopics, such as tours and city walks, new events, open house days, thematic series, and special series like 100 Years of Waldkirche, Together in Dialogue: Rethinking Inclusion, Sustainability in the Wardrobe, Everything Digital?! or Future Skills AI for Everyday Life and Work. Tickets, Registration, and Booking in Planegg

Even though many users search for tickets, the vhs im Würmtal primarily works with course registrations and participation fees. This is important for classification: it is not a classic hall with fixed seating and ticket contingents, but a continuing education center where one registers for specific courses, lectures, or events. According to the website, registration is possible in three ways: in person at the office during opening hours, by phone during opening hours, or online around the clock. For phone registrations, the vhs points out that bank details must be known. Payment can be made online via direct debit, in the office in cash, or also via direct debit. The simple language on the website also makes it clear that course prices may depend on the number of participants: a course with few participants costs more, while a course with many participants is cheaper. This shows how transparently the vhs communicates its model. For search terms like tickets, booking, or registration, the best answer is: here you book educational offerings, not show venues. Those who plan early will find specific dates, fees, locations, and often also information about the respective course leadership in the calendar and on the course pages. This creates a practical system that allows for both spontaneous online registration and personal consultation on-site. ([vhs-wuermtal.de](https://www.vhs-wuermtal.de/service/einfache-sprache))

Languages, Health, Digital, and Culture

The great strength of the vhs im Würmtal lies in the extraordinary breadth of its content. In the area of languages, the spectrum ranges from English, French, Italian, and Spanish to German as a foreign language, as well as sign language, Bavarian, Japanese, Croatian, Modern Greek, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Czech, and Hungarian. This makes the vhs interesting not only for beginners but also for people who want to specifically expand their language skills while traveling, in their profession, or in everyday life. In the area of health, there are offerings such as yoga, Pilates, Qigong, and Taiji, meditation and relaxation, Nordic walking, back courses, gymnastics, aqua fitness, memory training, nutrition, therapeutic fasting, and various fitness formats. This is precisely why keywords like courses, languages, health, digital, and art work so well here. ([vhs-wuermtal.de](https://www.vhs-wuermtal.de/service/einfache-sprache))

History and Profile of the vhs im Würmtal

The history of the vhs im Würmtal began on October 7, 1970, with the lecture The Unresolved Future by Dr. Herbert Franke. Even then, the founding had an unexpectedly large echo, so the first program started directly in the fall. Just two weeks later, another event followed about impressions from the USA. This early dynamism is still palpable today, as the vhs does not describe itself as a rigid administrative entity but as a lively place of education, culture, and encounter. For the 55th anniversary in 2025, it became visible how much the center has proven itself in everyday life: On a Tuesday, 456 participants were expected in 72 events, ranging from languages to health and creativity to history and social issues. This illustrates the enormous pace and diversity of the program. Organizationally, the vhs im Würmtal is structured as an association. A voluntary board leads and accompanies the work, two auditors check the books annually, and the team in the office is responsible for business operations and program planning. The vhs also emphasizes values such as democracy, diversity, openness, tolerance, and non-partisanship. Additionally, it has state recognition under the Bavarian Continuing Education Act. So, anyone who correctly classifies the location quickly realizes: This is not an event hall in the usual sense but a strong municipal educational institution with historical depth, regional roots, and a clear social mandate. This combination of history, community orientation, and high program diversity makes the vhs im Würmtal interesting for both SEO and users. Courses for adults! I'm taking a free German course for Ukrainians! Great classes, not many students, friendly atmosphere. Very good teacher, Angela. Positive, at a good pace, all German rules are explained in Russian-Ukrainian, which is very important at the beginning. I recommend!!

Our Nordic Walking weekend course with Annette Baindl was a complete success! We were beginners and gained a good foundation and feel for this sport in just a few days. It was an all-around pleasant course that offers a good balance between physical activity and relaxation. Would love to do it again!

The online course was misadvertised! Instead of a beginner's course, it was an advanced course. Also, a different book/material was mentioned in the incorrect description than what was needed. That means double expenses for the teaching material. The staff also demanded an 8€ processing fee in case of cancellation! And shifted the blame! They claimed no changes were made. Then the affected participants were probably just all too limited to read the description. Absolute cheek!

A small, nice painting course (watercolor and drawing) WITHOUT a teacher (C7101 Planegg). Nice group. Pleasant welcome for a newcomer, me.
