Wolf-Ferrari-Haus | Events & Program Ottobrunn
The Wolf-Ferrari-Haus is the cultural and event center of the municipality of Ottobrunn – centrally located at Rathausplatz 2 and since 1986 the stage for theater, concerts, cabaret, readings, exhibitions, and much more. Under its roof, the house combines modern event technology, flexible spaces from a large festival hall to seminar rooms, and a clear service orientation for visitors and organizers. Guests can conveniently reach the building via public transport (U5 to Neuperlach Süd, then bus 210/229; S5 to Ottobrunn, then bus 221/229) or by car; a free underground parking garage is accessible via Anton-Ripfel-Weg. Accessibility is a standard practice: elevators connect all levels, and an inductive hearing system supports visitors in the festival hall. Tickets are available online through the linked shop (Reservix) as well as at the theater box office in the house; event series such as the renowned "Ottobrunner Konzerte" bring national and international artists closer to the stage. Those planning their own events will find spaces for up to 500 people, variable seating arrangements, and foyers for receptions – in short: a reliable location for culture, business, and private celebrations right in Ottobrunn.
Program, Events, and Tickets at the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus
The cultural program of the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus covers a wide range: from classical music, jazz, soul, or singer-songwriters to drama, musicals, dance, comedy, and lectures. The digital event calendar on the official website bundles all upcoming dates clearly and provides detailed pages – so you can find summaries, start times, information on hall usage, and the respective ticket options at a glance. Tickets for most in-house events are conveniently sold online through the linked ticket shop (Reservix); gift vouchers valid for three years and redeemable flexibly for performances in the house are also available there. Prefer personal advice? Then the theater box office in the foyer is the right place to go: it opens regularly on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, and Thursday late afternoons/evenings. Additionally, telephone reservations can be made at 089 60808302; the evening box office opens one hour before the event starts. For frequent visitors, the house offers subscriptions that have proven themselves over several seasons, providing reliable planning security with attractive conditions. A special highlight of the year is the "Ottobrunner Konzerte". The series, artistically directed by Cornelius Claudio Kreusch and Johannes Tonio Kreusch, has been presenting high-profile programs from classical and jazz for years. Thanks to the hall acoustics, the proximity to the stage, and the thoughtful seating arrangement, the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus is considered a place where one experiences great musicians "up close" – indeed, culture without long distances, conveniently located at the gates of Munich. Those seeking inspiration will find, in addition to music and drama, special formats such as exhibitions in the foyers, course offerings from partner institutions in the house, and seasonal program points from Advent to open-air summer. Tip: Check the detail page for each event – it indicates whether tickets are sold in the house or if it is an external event with separate booking methods.
Directions and Parking: How to Get to Ottobrunn Relaxed
The location in the town center makes getting there easy – with or without a car. Those coming from Munich have two quick public transport options: U5 to Neuperlach Süd, then continue with bus 210 (towards Taufkirchen, Lilienthalstraße) or 229 (towards Phönix-Bad, Ottobrunn) to the stop "Ottobrunn, Ortsmitte". Alternatively, the S5 towards Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn goes to "Ottobrunn"; from there, you can take bus 221 (towards Unterhaching) or 229 (towards Phönix-Bad) to "Ortsmitte". Travel times from neighboring municipalities are short: Unterhaching is connected by bus 221 in about 12 minutes, Neubiberg by bus 210 in about 11 minutes. If you prefer to drive yourself, you can quickly reach Ottobrunn via the A99 (exit Ottobrunn) or the A8 (exit Unterhaching-Ost) and follow the signs towards Ortsmitte. For the navigation device, it is advisable to use "Rathausplatz 2, 85521 Ottobrunn" for outdoor parking; the entrance to the free underground garage is located on Anton-Ripfel-Weg. Elevators lead directly from the garage to the foyer – practical, weather-protected, and accessible. For larger productions or trade fair setups, logistics typically use the back of the building; the house designates the address "Am Bogen 33" as the delivery point with access to the freight elevator. Those arriving from the city center and wanting to avoid parking altogether can combine Park+Ride at large public transport hubs (e.g., Neuperlach Süd) with the bus. For late performances: the MVV schedule also connects the town center in the evenings; however, check the return times for your line. The Wolf-Ferrari-Haus communicates any special notices (e.g., construction or area closures) on its website – a quick look on the day of the event is always worthwhile. Conclusion: Whether attending a concert or a congress – the paths are short, the underground garage is free, and access is convenient.
Seating Plan and Seats in the Festival Hall
The festival hall is the heart of the house and at the same time a flexible all-rounder. The official seating plan shows the parquet with direct stage view, side accesses, and the surrounding balcony. Price categories, designated wheelchair spaces, and the tiered elevation ("Erhöhung") from row 6 are marked – an important detail for sightlines, especially for seated concert and theater formats. The acoustics are supported by the hall geometry and technical equipment; the house relies on experienced sound and lighting teams for classical and scenic productions. An inductive hearing system is installed for visitors with hearing aids, which is used at all concerts, theater, and lecture events. The best hearing area has been delineated in live conditions and precisely named in the parquet: row 2 (seats 13–17), row 3 (14–20), row 4 (13–20), and row 5 (14–20). So, those who hear with an activated T-coil ("T") benefit from optimal speech intelligibility. The combination of parquet and balcony allows organizers to use the house according to genre and demand: from intimate row seating close to the podium to expanded use with a gallery. For special setups – such as banquets, galas, or panel discussions – variable seating plans are available; the house publishes current plans and adjusts them to safety regulations. Last-minute bookers who call can view the seating in the seating plan. A tip for photo fans and social media posts: the perspective from the gallery often provides atmospheric views of the hall – especially with lighting moods in blue and gold tones – while the proximity to the stage in the parquet is particularly appreciated for readings, cabaret, or chamber music. In general, it is worthwhile to consider the respective event: for symphonic programs, many guests prefer middle rows with a slight elevation from row 6; for drama and dance, sightlines are more important than proximity, which is why aisle seats sometimes offer surprisingly good angles. Orientation is provided by the published seating plan with clear sector and row markings.
Renting Rooms: Festival Hall, Council Hall, Foyers, and Seminar Rooms
Those planning an event will find professional conditions at the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus – from a short customer event to a multi-day conference. The festival hall is the largest room: it accommodates up to 500 people (about 300 seats at a banquet) and measures 345 m²; with the balcony, the usable area totals around 510 m². Stage, control room, orchestra pit, and orchestra room are also available, as well as modern lighting, sound, and event technology. For larger contexts, the festival hall can be combined with the North Foyer – ideal for get-togethers, VIP receptions, or silent areas. The council hall scores as the second large space with a capacity of up to 200 people, 160 m² of floor space (290 m² including balcony), and a flexible stage area; it is suitable for lectures, panels, company parties, or smaller concerts. Additionally, three foyers (ground floor, upper floor, and North Foyer) are available for exhibitions, fairs, buffets, and standing receptions – individually or in combination with the halls. Those planning workshops, breakouts, or press conferences can use the five seminar and course rooms. Depending on the seating arrangement, they accommodate about 20–40 people; all are air-conditioned, can be darkened, and are suitable for presentations as well as creative sessions. The website provides floor plans (ground/upper/lower), location maps, capacity overviews, and technical lists – from network and internet details to hall technology. For private occasions, there is also a selected room (e.g., E232) for family celebrations; according to house information, Ottobrunn citizens benefit from special conditions. In practice, organizers appreciate the central location, good transport connections, and easy logistics via the underground garage. The building technology and event team accompany preparation and execution; seating variants are individually coordinated and implemented in compliance with safety regulations. Those planning for the first time in the house can start with standard setups (row seating, parliamentary, U-shape, banquet) and use the foyers for registration, cloakroom, or catering. Result: short paths, clear contacts, and a location that supports both cultural and business events equally.
Cinema in the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus: Filmstudio Ottobrunn
The cultural offering also includes the "Filmstudio Ottobrunn" in the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus. The single cinema at Rathausplatz 2 is intentionally approachable and curates its program with a mix of current films, series, and special screenings. According to the industry directory and specialist portal, it offers around 80 seats – ideal for a focused cinema experience with good visibility from nearly all seats. Conveniently, the cinema box office opens 30 minutes before the first screening of the day and remains open until the start of the last screening; tickets can be purchased spontaneously on-site. For frequent moviegoers, the in-house Cinecard is interesting: it allows cashless payments at the cinema and is promoted with small extras for top-ups (e.g., popcorn voucher from a certain amount). Online reservations and purchases are possible; however, discounted seats are not available for online purchases due to technical reasons – those wishing to use discounts should clarify this best at the box office. The Filmstudio can be reached by phone at 089 608 55 344; on the cinema website, you will find the program, promotions, and any special notices (e.g., last-minute changes in the schedule). The same advantages apply for getting there as for concert and theater guests: central location in the town center, bus connection, and the free underground garage on Anton-Ripfel-Weg with elevators into the house. Cinema in the cultural center – this means in Ottobrunn short paths, good technology, and an intimate atmosphere that supports blockbusters as well as film art or special series. Those who appreciate the mix of live culture and film can combine a concert or theater visit with a cinema screening on another evening – all under one roof, without long drives through the city.
Catering, Christmas Market, and Seasonal Highlights
The gastronomic offering at the house has traditionally been closely linked to the "Wirtshaus Ottobrunn" with a beer garden. Currently, the Wirtshaus is temporarily closed; the brewery Aying is reportedly looking for a new tenant. Those planning events can work with external catering depending on the event format until the reopening – the foyers and the ground-level accesses allow flexible solutions for buffets, finger food, or break stations. Seasonal highlights also provide variety in the event calendar: during the pre-Christmas season, the Ottobrunner arts and crafts market takes place in the house – a creative format with booths and unique items that fills the foyers and halls with life. Additionally, Advent concerts and productions from local partners – such as the Rosmarie-Theobald music school – prepare for the year's end. In the summer months, parts of the program move outdoors: open-air evenings as part of the "Ottobrunner Sommer" utilize the pleasant location at Rathausplatz; the proximity of the rose garden and courtyard also offers atmospheric backdrops for receptions, photos, and short performances. Year-round, the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus serves as a municipal hub: in addition to the municipal library, it hosts club and course activities; the independent series "Ottobrunner Konzerte" is a fixed part of the profile and is closely coordinated with the house and municipality. Those wanting to gather impressions will find numerous photos of the festival hall, council hall, and foyers on the website – helpful for planning to assess hall proportions, sightlines, and possible decoration ideas. Tip for visitors: Check the house announcements online before your appointment – temporary notices (e.g., regarding the opening hours of the Wirtshaus, special admission rules, or current parking notices) are transparently communicated there. This way, you start relaxed into the concert, cinema, or congress and take advantage of the benefits of short paths, barrier-free access, and the clear hall structure.

The place is charming and the acoustics are good, but parking can be a bit of an issue if you arrive by car. I bought tickets online and everything went smoothly, but it would be helpful to have more information about the availability of cafés and restrooms inside the building. All in all, a pleasant experience for a cultural outing.

We had visited Wolf Ferrari Haus for a stand-up comedy. The stage was well lit with colored lights. Everything regarding the stage worked perfectly well.

Recently, I attended a theatre festival at Wolf Ferrari haus. Even though it's located on the outskirts of Munich, it is still well connected by public transport. There are lot of restaurants and shops in and around the place. The hall looks a bit small, but enough to host around 200 people, I assume.
