Munich starts into an uncomfortable Tuesday

On June 9, the state capital will remain consistently gray and rainy, and it will be rather cool for the time of year. By the afternoon at the latest, the weather situation will become noticeably rougher due to strengthening winds – no sun in sight.

Rain shapes the entire Tuesday in Munich

Light rain will start in Munich as early as the morning, with temperatures at the beginning of the day around 16 degrees. It will remain wet as the day goes on: the sky will be densely overcast, and significant dry spells are not to be expected throughout the day. The rain will continue into the evening and persist through the night.

Temperatures during the day will only range from about 14 to 17 degrees. In the evening, it will cool down to 13 to 14 degrees, and at night values will be between 12 and 13 degrees. Overall, Tuesday will be noticeably more subdued than is often the case at the beginning of June.

It will become more noticeable in the afternoon: then the wind will pick up significantly. The strongest gusts will come from the southwest and reach up to 42 kilometers per hour. Over the course of the day, the wind direction will shift from west in the morning to southwest during the day and to south in the later evening.

For planning, this mainly means: rain protection is advisable from morning to night, and in the afternoon it can become even more uncomfortable due to the gusts.

Unstable conditions also midweek

A rapid improvement in the weather is not in sight at first. Unstable weather is again expected in Munich on Wednesday: light rain, 10 to 14 degrees, and still hardly any sun. On Thursday, temperatures will remain low at 8 to 14 degrees, with light showers and around three hours of sunshine forecast; strong gusts from the west are also possible again.

The situation is also unsettled in the region: places like Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Rosenheim, Ingolstadt, and Augsburg are also reporting light rain. On June 9, the German Weather Service also issued an official warning of continuous rain for parts of Bavaria, including Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Rosenheim. Munich itself is not explicitly mentioned in this warning – but the widespread unstable weather situation clearly extends beyond the city limits.

In Munich, the sun will rise at 05:14 a.m. and set at 09:12 p.m. on this Tuesday. In practice, this means little: the day will be marked by rain, dense clouds, and strengthening winds.
