When dusk falls over Gilching on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the facade of the Wersonhaus transforms into an impressive projection surface. At "The Museum Shines!" light, image, and sound meet the archaeological treasures of the SchichtWerk Museum – Time Travel in the Wersonhaus. Admission is free, donations are welcome.
Archaeological images in moving light
Large-format projections present museum objects from Bavarian and Roman times in a new light. Historical artifacts appear as glowing video clips on the facade, accompanied by a specially coordinated musical atmosphere. This creates a sensual stage experience between exhibition, media art, and public performance.
Participate instead of just watching
The interactive installation “Do you know this one? – History(ies) to Guess” is at the center. Children and adults are invited to describe historical objects, guess terms, and dive into the past together. The dramaturgy combines playful audience participation with archaeological education and makes the history of Gilching immediately tangible.
WordRich impulses in interplay with light and sound
The performance is complemented by creative contributions from the WordRich. Under the annual motto “together.WE act”, the texts provide food for thought and expand the visual level with a literary perspective. The lighting atmosphere, acoustics, and projection merge into an atmospheric evening, where the museum facade itself becomes a narrating set design.
Flexible arrival and open museum
The performance repeats approximately every 25 minutes. Entry is possible anytime between 19:30 and 22:00. At the same time, the SchichtWerk Museum opens its rooms and invites visitors to discover Gilching's past with media and interactive stations, Roman and Bavarian artifacts, as well as stories surrounding the Wersonhaus.
