Contemplor Magnum: An Immersive Faith Experience for the Anniversary
When sacred spaces, choral music, brass sounds, and light merge into a shared spiritual experience, the Erlöserkirche Munich invites you to a special evening. To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Evangelical Lutheran Erlöserkirche in Schwabing, Contemplor Magnum combines classical music, a spiritual atmosphere, and modern concert aesthetics.
Music, Space, and Spirituality
The immersive concert performance opens the church space for an impressive combination of sound, light installations, electronic sounds, and atmospheric elements. Works by Anton Bruckner and other musical motifs meet the special acoustics and architecture of the Erlöserkirche. Thus, a faith experience emerges between concert, contemplation, and contemporary church music.
Choirs, Brass Players, and Musical Direction
The program features the choir of the Erlöserkirche, the concert choir Germering, and the deanery brass choir. Around 120 brass players shape the richness of sound for the evening together with the choirs. The musical direction is in the hands of Christian Seidler and Michael Leyk. Contributors include Mathias Rehfeldt on light installation, Markus Kaiser as speaker, Fabian Bögelsack on trumpet, Jukka Geisler on organ, and Leander Kaiser on timpani.
125 Years of Erlöserkirche in Munich-Schwabing
The Erlöserkirche was consecrated in 1901 and is noted for its combination of historicist and Art Nouveau elements, making it one of Munich's distinctive church buildings. The anniversary weekend on October 10 and 11, 2026, combines worship, church music, community life, and cultural dialogue. Contemplor Magnum serves as the musical conclusion to this celebratory program.
An Evening for Believers and Interested Parties
The event is aimed at people who want to experience spiritual music, evangelical tradition, church architecture, and new forms of religious experience together. The serene concentration of the church space, the powerful brass players, the choral sound, and the light design create a spiritual community that transcends an ordinary concert.
Contemplor Magnum promises an impactful evening between liturgy, classical music, and modern concert performance. Those wanting to experience the Erlöserkirche as an anniversary venue in its special sound and light atmosphere will find here a striking occasion for meeting, reflection, and communal celebration.
