When the Funeral Feast Becomes a Mysterious Stage Event

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, the Alte Wirt Moosach in Munich will transform into the venue for an exciting and humorous crime dinner. In From Funeral Feast to Funeral Home, Bavarian wit, interactive acting, and culinary enjoyment merge into an unusual stage experience.

An Investigation between Memorial Service and Dark Humor

At the center of the production is Anselm Grabengräber, chief inspector of the local homicide squad. The unconventional investigator is known to be clever and exceptionally stubborn. Together with Ulrike, he takes the audience into a wondrous world of investigations where behind every polite gesture a hidden motive may lurk.

The dramaturgy combines classic crime comedy with the immediate means of dinner theater. While the case unfolds, guests do not sit distantly in the audience but experience the action right in the dining area. Characters, suspicions, and surprising twists thus come directly to the tables.

Stage Art with Bavarian Atmosphere

The Alte Wirt Moosach provides the perfect acoustic space for this evening: cozy tavern atmosphere meets the tense anticipation of a criminal plot. Between laid tables, sharp dialogues, and comedic timing, a lively stage design emerges where enjoyment and acting enhance each other.

The production focuses on intimacy, pace, and audience reaction. At times, a suspicious remark grabs attention; at other times, an eccentric character elicits hearty laughter. The crime dinner plays with the audience's expectations and intentionally makes the boundary between spectators and action permeable.

Tension, Enjoyment, and Collective Puzzle Solving

The approximately three and a half-hour experience combines an exciting murder investigation with culinary courses. Humorous scenes, detective work, and the atmosphere of a traditional Munich tavern intertwine. Those who listen attentively may discover clues before Anselm Grabengräber takes the decisive step.

The event is suitable for circles of friends, family celebrations, groups, and anyone who wants to experience theater in an informal, interactive form. The Dinner Board stands for a contemporary connection of live entertainment, Bavarian hospitality, and scenic surprise.
